One by one people left the room after the trial was over. Maddie stopped walking and stared at Castelia's back which was moving away. Castelia stopped when she realized Maddie wasn't moving and turned to face her.
Castelia asked, "Madd, what's wrong?"
Maddie's expression was confused but also angry. Maddie didn't know how she felt now, specifically about her suspicions that Castelia was the one who gave Joshua the proof he always wanted. Wouldn't that make sense why Joshua would suddenly stop bothering them?
Before leaving the room, Maddie checked their bank account through the phone and how surprised she was when she saw that the money they got from selling the house hadn't decreased when Castelia should have used all that money to pay Joshua.
Maddie walked over before asking, "I see you haven't paid what we owe Joshua?"
"I was planning on doing it but he's no longer bothering us. That's why I'm saving it."
