Maddie took a deep breath, trying to be patient and calm before committing more mistakes. Maddie explained nicely, "I can't possibly think like that. Cas, I'm sorry if I offended you."
Castelia and Maddie are good friends and have lived together for a long time. On the one hand, Maddie doesn't understand why it's so hard for Castelia to let her anger down and solve problems without making them worse. Castelia didn't, she acted like Maddie's mistake was unforgivable.
"I need some time alone," Castelia said and she just walked away. Moving away from Maddie's sight without the slightest intention of turning back, let alone turning around, she just walked away leaving Maddie alone on the side of the road.
If Castelia wanted to be alone, Maddie would leave her as she wished, even though it was unpleasant. Maddie tries to accept her mistake but damn it, she has to run now.
