There's never been an elite bar that feels hot even though it's filled with people and cigarette smoke, and Maddie wears a thigh-length, light-fitting dress like she's barely wearing anything, but Maddie is hot. She felt like she wanted to jump into the ice pool to cool off.
Maddie could never understand how Castelia was fascinated with that bastard, but Maddie would save her questions for later. Maddie will assume Joshua never said anything and she takes a seat on the long, semicircular sofa to the right. From that point on, Maddie was still too far from Joshua because he was squeezed between four of his friends, but it didn't matter as long as Maddie could catch up.
"So, you guys often come to this place?" Maddie asked casually, picking up a glass cup haphazardly from the table and swallowing it down in half a gulp. The woman wore a mischievous expression, as did her seductive voice. Maddie said, "I don't think it's bad my friend left me. I have a new friend."
Joshua sat still and acted as if he wasn't listening, but he smiled contemptuously to destroy Maddie's confidence. Maddie could still be patient, she got up from her seat and grabbed the bottle of wine from the table. Maddie said, "I'll pour you guys a drink."
No one objected, so Maddie did it right away. After five full glasses on the table, Maddie snatched Joshua's glass before he could touch it. Maddie sarcastically said, "I thought you wouldn't drink because you don't like short-haired slut."
Joshua's friends laughed as they stared at Joshua who didn't react and it was a golden opportunity for Maddie to put in the medicinal powder she had been holding for a long time. Maddie pulled the glass from behind her back and handed it to Joshua. With a smile, she said, "Drink it as an apology for calling me a slut."
All of Joshua's friends were excited, seemed to like the idea Maddie had to offer and thought it was interesting. But the bastard named Joshua didn't respond. Not only that, he didn't take the drink out of Maddie's hand and gulped it down as planned. Joshua got up after squeezing and commented, "You're even more boring than an amateur slut."
Shocked, Maddie gaped involuntarily as Joshua bluntly spoke and used much more insulting language. Joshua said, "I'm going to smoke outside." He walked away, leaving his friends while taking out a pack of cigarettes from the pocket of a black coat.
"Since he doesn't want to, let me drink." The voice belonged to the man next to Maddie. Maddie snapped out of her loathing and daydream as the man grabbed the glass without permission and finished it in one gulp.
"No!" Maddie shouted, sadly too late because the glass was already empty. Very nice! Maddie's plan failed miserably and Castelia rushed to look away when she saw Joshua pass her. Even though the distance between them was still three tables, Castelia was so scared. At the same time, Castelia's heart seemed to be pulled like a magnet. The same feeling, unchanged after four years of not seeing each other.
Castelia slowly got up the courage to peek and Joshua was out through the front door with a cigarette between his lips.
"I have to go." Maddie wants to run away before the drugs work and everyone else on the same bench realizes she's trying to do something to their friend.
In short, Maddie planned to get Joshua to take a stimulant and take him out before it worked. Dragged him into the car and ended up in a hotel room and created irrefutable evidence that Joshua had betrayed his wife. It was a five hundred plus fifty thousand dollar plan until they found out that the target was an old pal.
"Go where?" One of the men grabbed Maddie's hand to stop her before she could get up from her seat. Maddie had no time for that, she slapped his hand away roughly and rushed off.
Just in time, their friend who had been drinking alcohol started to react to the drug that was put in and he managed to grab the attention of his friends. "What happened?" asked one of them as the man touched his head and looked confused.
Ignoring that, Maddie returned to Castelia's and whispered, "Cas, our plan failed miserably."
Maddie didn't want to blame, but this was why it was always Castelia who stood in the front row because the story took a turn for the worse when they changed positions. Maddie needed Castelia to fix it, as usual. "What do you mean failed?" Castelia should have guessed that when Joshua left through the door. She didn't because she didn't expect Maddie to fail again.
Instead of explaining, Maddie frantically asked, "What do we do now?" After tonight, they only have two days and that's not good news because their target is men like Joshua.
Castelia replied, "What else? Go after him and make sure you succeed." If not, what can they do? Castelia rummaged through her bag to get another drug out, but the voices of several men caught their attention. They looked up at the same time and Maddie was startled by Joshua's friends who after her, seemed to have realized about what had happened to their friend.
"Hey, you!!!" The three men pointed at Maddie and dashed through the restraining crowd.
"Cas, please!" Maddie spontaneously ran away while Castelia crouched under the table to avoid being seen. Castelia made it, but she had to see Maddie running through the side door and out of nowhere.
"Oh no." Castelia was anxious, came out of hiding to looking her surroundings and realized that she was alone. Castelia decided to get out of the place to avoid Maddie who might return with the mens chasing her and Castelia regretted that she did that.
Castelia's destination was the car in the parking area out the front door. Instead of pulling out her car keys, her small bag fell because of the puff of smoke that came from behind the wall she had just passed. Everyone could call Castelia crazy or obsessive, but she could tell who it was just from the sound of exhaling. Castelia's reflex flipped and at the same time, the man turned his head. Eye contact met by accident and Castelia could feel the electricity tormenting her blood.
Castelia forgot how to blink and even breathe for those three minutes of silence. She froze like a statue until Joshua threw out his cigarette. Joshua stubbed out the remaining cigarette with the sole of his shoe and walked over. Joshua casually asked, "Is this a coincidence?"
Doesn't Joshua's question imply that he still remembers Castelia? How surprised Castelia was, indeed speechless, but it was crazy to admit that there was a happiness in her heart that Joshua still remembered her after four years like it was a blessing.
Joshua took a step closer, and Castelia reflexively took a step back to dodge. She accidentally stepped on her bag that had fallen earlier and staggered, and there was Joshua swiftly catching her by putting his hands on her waist.
Joshua was still as handsome as the last time Castelia had looked at him this close. His cold eyes were like soothing warm chocolate. Castelia felt her heart beat much faster and her cheeks turned red, feelings she shouldn't have. Joshua smiled a little, and no one knew what he was trying to say through his eyes. He greeted, "Hi, Cas."
