Bram pulled out a chair for Maddie before sitting across from her, and they were separated by a round table that wasn't too high. Maddie gave a brief smile before starting to look around, thinking this restaurant was a little too good to talk about some matters.
Ignoring that, Maddie looked at Bram who had been looking at her, asking, "So, what did you want to talk about?"
Maddie's question made Bram frown, reminding Bram that he had never asked Maddie to talk about something but dinner. Bram asked back, "Why do you think I want to talk about something?"
"I mean ... you asked me to meet?" Maddie's response was straight, a little confused, thinking maybe she had misunderstood.
