"What do you mean you can't port in cuffs for me?" I asked Minerva who was attempting to open the usual portal for me.
"I mean something's interfering with my space magic, Officer Roberts," she groaned. "Just... shut up for a bit. I need to connect to my main servers."
Great.
I got dozens of criminals in custody but no cuffs. Fortunately, I instilled enough fear in them so they didn't try anything funny.
"Officer Andrew Roberts?"
A voice called my name from behind.
It was an old gentleman. One of the civilians that were cornered by the goons.
"Yes?" I replied.
"Oh my it's really you!" he exclaimed and grabbed my hand. "The name's Liam Osborn. Freelance journalist and reporter."
I gave him a wry smile and returned his handshake.
"It's nice to meet you," I replied. And then, my eyes caught a glimpse of the young boy who was with him. "And that is?"
"Oh, yes! Arthur, why don't you-"
Before he could finish his sentence, the boy rushed towards me and gave me a lively salute.
