"Alright, now we just have to look in this tribe to find things usable for us," Ekrem said pointing at different huts.
Kyle and the others nodded and went to work.
"Move with me," Emil said to Amil, her concern for him had been heightened since the fight.
Amil just rolled his eyes and followed them. They entered a hut that from the inside was very stinky which made them cover their nose. They went to the kitchen finding nothing but a little snake's flesh.
"I smell blood," Emil said.
"It might be of the snake's"
"No, it's an unfamiliar smell"
Emil started following the smell, Amil just shrugged and went behind her. Upon entering a curtained room, Emil's eyes widened in shock while Amil just puked his guts out….It was a horrendous sight, a human female all naked was on the bed with eyes gouged out and all guts spilled out. Everywhere…there was only blood and it looked fresh.
"What the fuck…this is a human," Elina said with wide eyes, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Meanwhile, Amil just puked and didn't look again, it was the site that will make him unrestful for many days. He was part human and seeing a human in this kind of situation for the first time didn't help a bit.
They went out and saw others as much shocked as them, well less than Amil. They all were just going to talk when Amil saw Ekrem approaching, not alone but with a guest.
In his hand was a chain and on the leash was a male human in rags walking with him with pained eyes. Amil could tell from the eyes that the man was just ready to die anytime but alas it didn't last wrong, the human greed was endless.
"Please….SPARE ME!!" The human spoke, and everyone looked at him with eyebrows furrowed. They couldn't understand a single word.
But Amil was just staggering back with wide eyes as if seen a ghost, he mumbled something that no one understood.
'English….'
Yeah, that's right. The human male was speaking English that he spoke in his previous life. He didn't even think before he said something out loud.
"I want him" Amil spoke, everyone looked at him, especially his sister looking at him with a twitching eye.
"What do you mean you want him if you would have asked for a female human. I would have understood but male?" Elena said while analyzing Amil from up to top.
"No no, you misunderstand me, sister, I have beasts with me and just wanted to have a human as a subordinate for fighting." He lied with proficiency, one of the perks of having a human soul.
"No way that's happening, my boy. Humans are unpredictable creatures, they may seem good outside but most of them are rotten to the core." Ekrem said while dragging the human with him.
"We will leave now, we have to show this human to the leader. We will wait for 30 minutes for all of you to recover, no more than that."
Amil kept looking at the human who was scared every time he looked at Amil.
After the break, they walked for a while, and when reached halfway though set up a camp to eat. The human was near the bonfire staring at the fire. There was no one near as they all were discussing about their rewards and sharing when they reach back. Amil took the opportunity to get near the human.
The human looked at a kobold coming towards him and shivered as if his time had come to die. The kobold just came close to him, stared at him, and sat near him.
'Should I speak or not' Amil was making a very important decision right now as, if he messed up then, even he didn't know what will happen.
He just activated the beast-taming skill on the human who frowned at the notification.
"Master-Servant contract?" The human said looking at the Kobold. Amil came near his ear and spoke.
"Yes" It was in English, the human's eyes went wide as he looked at Amil dumbfounded.
"Don't say anything, sign the contract or you will die. It's your choice"
Amil said and got up making some distance from the human to not look suspicious.
The human kept looking at the notification as if his life depended on it which literally was.
Amil went and sat with his sister again. Fluffy was sleeping peacefully while Pumpkin kept eating the wolf flesh Amil was putting on a stick to roast.
All was going normal with nothing strange until a notification came that literally made Amil's eyes pop out of his socket holes from happiness.
[ Human Zach has accepted the contract successfully]
White chains materialized on Amil's left hand and went directly to Zach's neck shining brightly. Everyone closed their eyes from the shine aside from Ekrem. Amil was sweating buckets as if feeling he messed up.
The shine and chain vanished after a few seconds making everyone look at Amil in shock, they all had seen the chains materializing at first.
"What is the meaning of this, AMIL" Ekrem said with a threatening tone.
"I t-tried my skill on him just for fun….B-but he accepted the contract," Amil said lying on their face but with genuine fear.
"Urghhh! WHY!" Ekrem said releasing his aura in anger. Everyone went pale from the pressure. Emil gritted her teeth and went in front of Amil with her sword out in a defensive pose.
Ekrem looked at his beloved disciple ready to fight her and started controlling his anger. With a sigh, he said.
"Amil, what you did is break the order of the superior. You will be punished but by the leader, we will take the human with us just as planned."
Everyone seemed to be still in daze after feeling the domineering aura.
They started moving again with Zach in tow. In around 1 hour of awkward silences, they reached the tribe again. Ekrem didn't wait and went to the leader filling him up with the details. After a while, Ekrem came out of the hut.
"The leader wants to meet you with the human inside," Ekrem said with calmness.
Amil took Zach's chain and took him to the hut, Elena was just going to tag along but was interrupted by a hand on her shoulder, Ekrem stopped her as the leader only asked for Amil and Zach. Emil couldn't help but worry and started biting her big pointy nails.
When Amil entered, he saw the leader directly looking at him with an unreadable face. It was the first time he saw him not doing any work and it was understandable with what Amil did.
"…You always do things that I can't predict," Leader said with a mild smile.
"I'm sorry, leader. I didn't think that my skill will work on him and not expected that he would even accept the contract….He said that he felt he could survive like this even as a slave."
The leader frowned at the remark. He squinted his eyes looking at the human.
"What do you mean he told you?"
"Uhh…since the contract I can communicate with him."
"I don't believe you," The leader said with wide eyes.
"Hey, look right," Amil said in Koboldian language but sent a mental order to Zach.
Zach flinched as he heard a voice in his head, he didn't wait and performed the order.
The leader looked at the human doing what Amil told him and had goosebumps, what did this mean? They can communicate.?
Amil looked at the leader but was surprised as he saw the leader grinning for the first time. He vanished from his seat to the duo's surprise and appeared in front of Amil.
"Do you know what all things are possible now…No…do you even know what you have done?" The leader said all excited and Amil just tilted his head in false confusion.
"The only reason we couldn't interact with other races is because of our race's nature but also because we don't speak the same language. But now that you can talk with a human, all is going to change." He vanished again and appeared back in his seat.
"This is an order, take the human to your home and feed him as well keep him safe, come back in the morning with him again…. And tell Ekrem to come again while you wait for him near the hut now"
'Perfect' Amil grinned inwardly as his plans became successful.
He went out with Zach in tow, Emil came running to him and found no wounds, he told Ekrem to get in there again.
After a while, Ekrem came out with a frown.
