Chapter 120 - Chapter 120: Gifts (2):

"Let's have breakfast, first then you can open all the gifts we got you. "Okay," I acknowledged as the maids slowly began to bring out our breakfast and laid it on the table. Today's breakfast was pancakes with honey and blueberries. it was my favourite breakfast. The head cook must have made this on purpose as it was my birthday. Usually, my breakfast would be a little more healthy. But since it's my birthday I think I get to indulge a little.

Usually, when we eat there would be no conversation as it's more respectful that way. But today Father actually spoke up asking me about my day. As we ate there was small chit-chat going. Because we all spent 3 hours in a cellar locked up every Sunday, my relationship with my family has increased a lot. It's as if I never left.

After we finished breakfast, the maids began to clear the plates as we headed over to the tea room where all my presents were being stored. The room was filled with presents. A lot of the nobles have already sent presents to my palace. "Wow, Camilla I think you got more presents than I did," William announced as we all laughed.

Father, Mother, Grandmother and Aunty Jasmine all sat on the couch as they watched me open my presents. Grandmother indicated that I opened hers first. So I picked up the small squared box with green wrapping paper. I unwrapped the paper and opened the box. Inside lay a wooden comb with carvings on it.

"This is your first birthday with us and usually it's tradition for the grandmother to carve their grandchild a gift on their first birthday. I have wanted to give this to you for many years and today I finally get a chance to," explained Grandmother as she looked at me with tearful eyes. I left the gift on a table and hugged her, she gently wept in my arms as I comforted her. After she was done crying I looked at the other gifts. Mother wanted me to open hers first.

Mother's gift was wrapped in silver wrapping paper it had the shape of a small box. When I opened the box I noticed it was a silver pendant that bore my name. The pendant had cravings on the inside, it bore my initials CRA. I looked at my mother and she explained that she had given all her children a pendant with their name on it for their first birthday. I am surprised the pendant hasn't rusted after so many years. I smiled and hugged her.

"Open mine next," ordered Father as I nodded. His gift was just a rectangle box inside the box there were many jewels and gems I hadn't seen before. "I wasn't sure what girls your age liked, so I asked Robert and he suggested jewels. I wasn't sure which one you liked so I got a few of each gemstone you could find in the Theodo kingdom," he mumbled a little embarrassed. I laughed and replied, "As long as it's something you chose with your heart, then I will love it,". I also hugged him right after.

"Open mine," ushered William as he handed me his gift. His gift was wrapped in an odd shape. I removed the wrapping paper and looked inside. Inside were a couple of pens and a sort of torch-like thingy. I looked at him confusingly and he whispered in my ear saying, "These pens all have invisible ink, the torch allows you to see the writing. I know you will enter the academy soon, so I thought you might enjoy this gift incase you wanted to play a prank,". This is a brilliant gift, I'm sure I would enjoy this. "Thanks," I replied hugging him.

"Mine next," exclaimed Christopher as he dragged his gift from the floor and placed it on my lap. It was quite heavy. "Chrsitpher what is this," I asked as he gestured for me to open it. I carefully removed the wrapping paper and the box. Inside the box was some rope that I believed was horse reins. I looked at him confused as he explained, "These are horse reins. My actual present for you is a horse. I want to teach you how to ride a horse. So your new horse is in your stable,". "I have a stable?" I asked, I didn't know about that. "Yes you do, all our palaces have one, there's also a field at the back where you can go horse riding," he mumbled, "I'll take you one day," as I nodded.

Last but not least, Brandon's present. I'm quite curious on what he got me. "So, when deciding what to get you, I was so lost. Because as a princess, you have all the money and clothes you can get. So, I wanted to get you something that you seemed to like. I had a conversation with your maids and they noticed that you usually like reading a lot. The present I'm giving you is the key to the Imperial Library. This key is usually only given to the heir as some books in there aren't very children-friendly. But I hope you will enjoy the books in there," he explained. "Thank you so much, I think this might be my favourite gift. You see I really love to read," I announced hugging him.
