The procedure continued and I was quite impressed with the Princess's speech. It was quite a powerful speech. Strangely, I do not think an 11-year-old could give such a powerful speech. Maybe it's because girls in this era mature earlier?
The first part of Princess Camilla's birthday celebration finally finished. As the lady's maid, I could sit in the same carriage as Miss Lily. "Today was magnificent, wasn't it?" exclaimed Miss Lily as I nodded. Miss Lily continued to ramble on and on until we reached the manor. I love Miss Lily most of the time but she can talk on and on forever. I suppose it's because she doesn't have many friends her age nor does she have any siblings.
The day finally ended for me when Miss Lily decided to head off to bed. I could finally rest. "We are not resting. We need to find my soul beast," muttered Scarlett as I shot up from my bed. I had forgotten about that. "What time are we leaving?" I asked "Midnight. You should change into more comfortable clothes," explained Scarlett. I decided to wear a pair of pants and a T-shirt I bought from the market. They were comfortable and I could move around easily.

At midnight:
When everyone was in their blissful sleep, I was sent on a mission to find Scarlett's soul beast. I suppose the quicker I find them, the quicker I can go home. "So where exactly is your soul beast hidden?" I asked. "Head towards the Library. There is a secret compartment there. I believed my soul beast had been sealed there," replied Scarlett. I tiptoed into the kitchen, moving in the shadows to stay out of sight. Even though it was night, there were still some guards on patrol. I do not want to be caught. Otherwise, there would be a lot of explanation needed.
I got to the library and noticed that the door was locked. F*ck, I forgot they locked the doors. "What now?" I asked Scarlett. I used my hands to touch the door and suddenly my hand slipped through. What in the world? My whole body stepped through the door without hitting it. "What's going on?" I asked. "I helped you out a little bit," she stammered looking quite weak.
Usually, she would be flying around me but right now she seemed to look tired. She dropped onto my hands. "Scarlett, are you ok?" I whispered. "I will be when we find my soul beast," she mumbled. She formed a ball shape on my hand, it was as if she was in a lot of pain. The faint glow around her was gone. I hope nothing will happen to her. She is the only person who can get me home.
I entered the library and looked around everywhere. I could not see anything out of the norm. "Where is this hidden passage?" I asked "Upstairs. Third row, third column third book," ordered Scarlett. I did as she told me, however, I didn't notice that anything was wrong with that book. "Turn the book 90 degrees anticlockwise and then pull it," she ordered. When I did that a book column turned around forming a new room. I stepped into the room and I immediately saw a book standing in the middle.
I was gonna step forward to get it however Scarlett stopped me saying "There is magic here that will be triggered if you step on the wrong cube,". "Huh what do you mean?" I retorted, there were no cubes in sight. Scarlett used her powers to light up the room. I looked down and saw that there were cubes with different symbols and words.
"Scarlett, what do I do now?" I asked lifting one foot to see what character I was stepping on. This character looked like a serpent. "Serpent? Serpent?" she rambled as I looked at her confusingly. "Ohh it's Xiulcoatl," she established. "Who?" I uttered. "My soul beast Xiuhcoatl. He usually takes the form of a turquoise serpent. The symbols were a bit giveaway to which soul beast it is," she explained.
I looked at the characters/ symbols on cubes and noticed the characters were quite familiar. It was the alphabet in Greek. I remembered I learnt it for physics. "These symbols are all part of the Greek alphabet. Do you think it wants us to spell out the name of Xiuhcoatl? Maybe we will be able to get to the end?" I suggested. Scarlett nodded at my suggestion. "The first letter is X," stated Scarlett. X is chi, I stepped on that block with the chi symbol and it was correct. It beamed green. "Looks like your suggestion was correct," Scarlett mumbled. At that moment I felt quite proud.
Scarlett began to spell out Xiuhcoatl's name as I stepped on each symbol. They were all correct. When I stepped on lambda (L in Greek) all the cubes beamed green and they moved together to form a pathway. This pathway led me to the book. I walked to the book and just stared at it. "Do you think we can touch it?" I questioned Skylar as she nodded.
I touched the book and immediately a bright red light appeared. I used my hands to block the red light. "Master, I missed you," a deep voice muttered.
