After our breakfast was cleared away, some maids placed cups of tea for everyone. I sipped it and immediately I could tell that it was Rose tea.
Prince Christopher tapped on the table gently and everyone's attention turned towards him. "What's wrong Christ dear?" Mother asked. "To be honest Camilla, I must apologise to you," Prince Christopher began I looked at him in confusion. What does he need to apologise for? Has Camilla and Christopher met before? There's no way they have.
"You must be confused why am I apologising? I'm apologising because if I had run faster, I would've been able to save you from the kidnapper. Because I was the first person to realise you were kidnapped, I couldn't do anything but watch the women run further and further away. I used to say to myself if only I was a little bit faster. If only. I would've been able to save my sweet sister. All of the things you've suffered in your life so far are because of me. I can understand if you hate me," explained Prince Christopher.
I noticed that Mother looked alarmed and was about to say something however Father made her hold it back. "Let the kids sort it out. They are no longer children," I saw him mouth. Mother must've understood the reason behind it hence she let us be.
The only reason I knew how to read someone's lips was that in my original world, my cousin whom I lived with, was mute. I went to lip reading and sign language classes to learn how to talk to her. She was my only best friend during my difficult times and I wanted to be there for her as well. She wasn't born a mute. She only became mute after an illness.
"Brother, why do you think I would blame you?" I asked curiously. Prince Christopher looked shocked that I would say such a thing hence he began to explain how he felt guilty for putting me in all of these troubles because he couldn't run faster.
"Christopher remind me how old were you when I was kidnapped?" I asked. "6," he replied curtly. I looked at him with a bewildered face and said "You expect a six-year-old to be able to catch up to a grown-up adult?". He looked shocked that I would say such a thing. Perhaps he never thought of this matter on a different side.
"Prince Christopher, there is no need for you to blame yourself. I don't blame you. There's no need for me to blame you and I hope you won't blame yourself as well. Brother, I sincerely hope that you can live your own life yourself in the way you like it. Don't let me small kidnapping incident affect what you want to do in your own life. Live your life to the fullest. In the way, you want to live it," I explained whilst sipping some tea.
Father and Mother looked at each other and smiled. It seems that their decision was correct. "Christ my dear, since your sister has already said it to this point then you should stop blaming yourself. I've never blamed you. You will always be my dearest son. So, I want you to do what you want in your life. As long as you're not breaking the law. Your Father and I will always support you," muttered Mother as she smiled at Brother. Christopher's face blushed a bright pink but you could tell he was happy.
Since everything seemed so awkward, I decided to change the topic.
