Jeff looked at her and she looked back at him as if challenging him to mention her. He was the first to break eye contact, Amy scoffed. "Someone tends to land herself in trouble."
Amy crossed her hands and watched him with an uninterested look. Lucy's mother smiled at him. "Well, have a seat, dearie, Amy wanted to tell you something. You couldn't be more timely. Louis and I will go prepare something for your tummies."
Amy looked at Lucy's mother in disbelief as she winked at her as she got up so that nobody else saw their exchange. Louis densely looked at his mother as she was dragged to the kitchen. Suddenly the air became thicker. She looked away and crossed her hands. No way she was apologizing for something that wasn't her fault. Jeff didn't even attempt to sit down.
Realizing that probably, they were going to behave that way, she decided to speak. "Jeff."
"Amy." They both spoke at once.
