Paula opened her eyes into her own room, her head still on the book she was reading and the door opened exactly the way Jenna left it. She hurried towards the sink and sat down on her heels beside it. From behind the edge of the little door that was hanging off its hinge, she pulled out a small carton with several bottles of cleaning compounds. Among them was this jar with candies and a giraffe.
"Not started growing yet. It's okay. You will soon, little buddy." She said and placed it back in the carton and pushed it out of eye range, behind the door.
She went back to the table and marked the last line she's read,
'After they start to grow, feed them their favourite organic compound, the minute drop of your blood.' And gave in to the exhaustion of the day.
