When Bo Jinlan arrived at the police station, it was in utter chaos inside, buzzing with noise and commotion.
Upon mentioning Xu Fenglai's name, the officer processing their case immediately asked, "And you are...?"
"A friend."
A nearby officer reminded, "Friends won't do. The case tonight has blown up pretty big, better just call a lawyer."
Bo Jinlan smiled, "The lawyer and his father will be here shortly."
"Do you want to see him now?"
Bo Jinlan said he could.
Then the police escorted him to a small room where Xu Fenglai sat without a coat, shivering in a black sweatshirt and jeans, "Jinlan, it's about time you showed up. I'm freezing to death here!"
Bo Jinlan raised an eyebrow, "A girlfriend or a date?"
"I'm wrongfully accused!" Xu Fenglai hurried to explain, "How was I supposed to know 'having tea' meant picking up girls? Jinlan, tell me, did you know that?"
Bo Jinlan countered, "How would I know that?"
"Exactly, if you don't know, how could I?"
