Chapter 16 - Adoration

Zhu Lin and the others were all injured and had nowhere to vent their anger after being beaten up by a young lady. They did not expect a brat to happen to come. They finally found a way to vent their anger.

However, Tang Shu had really traumatized them. Zhu Lin stopped one of his men who was about to attack and asked tentatively, "Did Tang Shu ask you to come?"

The man raised an eyebrow. "No."

The hooligan covered his bleeding arm and frowned impatiently. "Brother, this kid might have taken a fancy to that girl from the Tang family. We can't let him step on us."

Zhu Lin looked around and saw that the man came alone. He felt a little more confident and spoke firmly, "If you want to interfere in this matter, you need to have the ability."

The man nodded and did not comment. Unlike Tang Shu, who could only attack passively in consideration of Tang Shun's presence.

The man did not have so many scruples. He attacked first. He was clearly unarmed, but he made it impossible for people to get close to him. In a few moves, the ground was filled with people.

Zhu Lin trembled as he gripped the iron rod in his hand tightly. He was no longer as arrogant as before. "W-Who are you?"

Colin thought for a moment, then smiled suddenly. "Isn't that what you said? Her admirer."

At this moment, night was falling. The headlights drew a line on the dark road as the car stopped steadily in front of Tang's house.

Tang Shu helped Tang Shun out of the car. Tang Yuan's biological mother, Han Mei, hurriedly came out to welcome them.

"Why are you injured? What happened?" Han Mei helped Tang Shun up worriedly and looked at Tang Shu reproachfully. "Girl, why didn't you call me when something so serious happened to your brother? I can send a chauffeur to pick you up."

"Nothing serious." Tang Shun pretended to avoid Han Mei's touch. "Don't blame my sister. She did nothing wrong."

Han Mei looked at him in surprise. She pursed her lips and silently helped him sit down at the dining table.

"You're back. Why are you injured?" Tang An sat at the table with a frown and asked Tang Shu sternly, "Why didn't you tell your family that your brother was seriously injured? Or did you cause trouble and harm your brother?"

"That's right, Sister. Brother has never fought with anyone. Why is he so injured after only going out with you for a day?" Tang Yuan's heart ached as she took the medicine and was about to apply it to Tang Shun's wound.

Tang Shun dodged in disgust. "I told you, it's not Shu's fault. The wound is nothing serious. I've already gone to the hospital. You don't have to worry."

"Tang Shun!" Tang An slammed the table angrily. "Is this how you talk to your family? We're just worried about you."

Han Mei saw that Tang An was angry, so she carried the dishes out of the kitchen. "Hubby, calm down. Shun didn't mean to contradict you. He has always listened to you the most. He must've suffered outside today. Hurry up and eat. The dishes are getting cold."

Han Mei beckoned Tang Shun to sit on Tang An's left and signaled her daughter to sit beside him. Only then did she seem to remember Tang Shu, who was still sitting on the couch. "You should go eat too."

"Sister, sit beside me." Tang Shun pulled Tang Shu's hand and sat in the empty seat on Tang Shun's right.

Han Mei could only smile awkwardly and sit beside Tang Yuan.

Tang Yuan and Han Mei looked at each other thoughtfully. She eagerly scooped a bowl of soup and handed it to Tang Shun. "Brother, Mom specially made this for you. It's your favorite pork rib soup. Try it."

Tang Shun took the soup bowl and handed it to Tang Shu. "Sister, eat more. Look at how thin you are."

Tang Yuan retracted her hand resentfully. Han Mei smiled kindly and said, "I haven't seen you siblings so harmonious in a long time. I used to say that if you doted on Yuan Yuan like that, Shu would definitely be unhappy."

These words poked at Tang Shun's heart. He recalled how his stupid self had been fooled by Tang Yuan.

"Brother, eat some vegetables." Tang Shu put some vegetables into Tang Shun's bowl and interrupted his thoughts.

Tang An had eaten this dish before. Tang Shu was relieved to eat it before giving it to Tang Shun.

Although the original book did not have the plot of Han Mei poisoning them, the direction of the matter was already very different from the original book. It was difficult to guarantee that the family of three would still follow the same routine as in the book. Many things, even if unlikely, had to be guarded against.
