Anna sighed deeply and got up from her sofa to wash the dishes Mark had just dumped in the sink few seconds ago. She could still hear the faint rumbling of Mark's run down car. How a man who just had toast for breakfast could leave such mess behind him was beyond her but a lot of things about Mark was beyond Anna now. She no longer knew the man she has been married to for the past two years now, she did not understand or maybe even love the man Mark had become. Anna blinked the tears away from her eyes that threatened to roll down her eyes any second now. This was a normal occurrence for her, whenever she thought about Mark and what their relationship had become, she could not help but feel a renew sense of pain. Maybe this was her way of mourning the love she once had. Anna washed her hands and arranged the kitchen cloths properly. Once satisfied with her work, she made her way to her favorite spot in the whole house, her small sofa, situated right beside the fireplace. No fire was burning right now but she was just plain happy to sit and stare at the ashes left behind by last night's fire. She loved looking at ashes in the fireplace, maybe because it reminded her that the fire in her relationship has also reached to this end. There is nothing left anymore to hold onto and maybe it was time to just let the past go. Anna made up a mind and called her husband immediately. He did not answer. Anna smiled bitterly, she knew he won't, how could he when they had a fight last night ?. Anna knew what was to happen. It happened all the time and she didn't even react when suddenly the phone started to be rejected. She put the phone down and slumped on the sofa again, tears springing out of her eyes now. She could not believe what a mess she had become. She pulled her head back and her thoughts immediately went to the day she first met Mark.
