The closer to the Krovic Border that Angelus and Diego ventured, the more it was clear that Winterland culture pervaded into the Summerlands a lot easier than the Summerland culture into the Winterlands.
At first, people in villages that they would pass by were conversational in Krovic by necessity, and now - in this rather austere inn that Diego had chosen, seemingly on purpose - the main dialect spoken by the patrons was, indeed, the Winterland tongue, even though their features were clearly Casterian.
Every once in a while, Angelus would spot someone from the southern Krovic province of Tomiti, who, despite shared features, were distinct from Casterians by the color of their irises. Green, hazel, blue, brown - but never copper.
