I lifted the goblet to my lips, once again, inhaling the fragrance of it – or, rather, pungency – watching as the pest looked to my alchemist with an expression so easy and relaxed one might've mistaken believed he did no, in fact, threaten Vitale some five minutes prior.
"A personal choice of abstinence? Then, you must be a man of immense resolve, Brother Vitale." The pest laughed, taking a sip from his own garish goblet. "I cannot say I'm entirely surprised, however. You were the man who cured the plague, after all. Tell me, how did you do it?"
Was this man stupid? He truly must've been a spoiled child back in the empire if he thought honey-coated words were enough to get his way – especially after angering someone as petty as Vitale.
And in his trifling ways, he took his time to casually spoon cabbage soup into his mouth, savor it in such a way that he had never before savored the otherwise bland meal, and swallow it, before turning to Rens.
