The air was soon filled with the smell of burning leaves and buds. Lorence crawled on his knees and looked at the fire. "What have you done?" his face was pale yet his eyes were bloodshot. "All my life's work – ruined."
"More like the work of innocents," the man japed.
"These all are savages," he turned to Diego and rose. "I gave their worthless lives meaning," his spit flew, and then, he was back on the ground.
"Are you an idiot or are you forgetting? You have a chain around your neck."
The fire crept along the fields and blazed in a giant ball of fury. Smoke and ashes fell from the sky, and after a long time, Diego felt that he was seeing snowfall; a warm snowfall.
"You ruined it. You ruined it," Lorence screamed dangling from the chains.
Nibur walked with your fist curled. "Shut your trap," he spat on his fists and punched – knocking the sense and teeth out of Lorence.
"Why did you do that?" the man was shocked. "You just gave me more work!"
