People ran there together; men, women, soldiers, farmers and whatever job you can think of. They ran to see the spectacle of the maiden returning to the gods. They ran to see Electra burn, they ran to the stake where she was tied.
Violet was outside her tent when a group of soldiers ran past her. "Quick, they are going to burn that peasant girl," they laughed.
Violet's eyes widened. "Electra," she whispered and broke into a run.
Men and women gathered around the platform made of stone. Violet pushed them aside and moved to the front while people cheered from the sides, raising their hands and shouting.
She saw Electra tied to a metal pole with iron chains. She was not donned in her armour or she didn't have her sword. Her sword was grey and shabby, her hair was untied and flowing; tears flowed through her eyes. "Why are you doing this?" She cried.
