Chapter 40 - A Made up Encounter

Behind Don Albert Natasha was standing while fiddling with her hands. She nervously looked at Danial and greeted " H-h-Hello"

Natasha looked shy and delicate but it was enough to captivate Danial.

Her presence was unassuming, and one might have easily overlooked her at first glance. But upon closer observation, subtle details unveiled themselves, revealing her understated beauty. Natasha had a slender frame that hinted at gracefulness, her movements carrying a certain lightness as if she floated rather than walked.

As Danial's gaze lingered on her, he found himself captivated by the understated charm that radiated from Natasha, igniting a curiosity to unravel the enigma that lay beneath her fragile facade.

Danial realised he was staring at Natasha and quickly gathered his thoughts and waved his hands signalling them to come inside.

Natasha who was under Danial's gaze was red as a tomato, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment and shyness.

Albert took the lead and led Natasha to the desecrated house.

Danial shook his head and said " Sit where ever your comfortable "

Danial took a small stair and sat on it and saw that neither Albert nor Natasha was ready to sit. Danial sighed and said, " So Albert what's the reason you came to my house in this hour?"

Don Albert replied, " Master, after this incident I thought that my people were not fit enough to watch over the house on a daily basis so I brought Natasha."

I looked over at Natasha and asked Albert " So what do you intend on doing with her?"

Albert replied meaningfully " I thought over this many times and came to the conclusion that since Natasha was trained to be an assassin and knew she would be the perfect candidate to protect your mother."

Danial's brows furrowed slightly as he considered Don Albert's proposal. The idea of placing his mother's safety in the hands of a former assassin seemed both intriguing and unsettling. He glanced at Natasha, who appeared increasingly nervous under his gaze.

Danial inquired "What about James Carter and the Last Wish? If she's ready to be by my mother's side, then I don't want her to have any relationship with that organization."

Albert hastily said, " Master I have already talked to James and he said that he will relieve Natasha of her duties as an assassin in the Last Wish and he also told me that if Master Danial wishes for anything else, he will happily oblige to work with him."

Danial felt a mix of relief and caution. The reassurance from James Carter brought a semblance of trust, yet he couldn't shake off a lingering sense of uncertainty. He made a note to ask Don Albert more about James.

"Natasha," Danial began gently, "if you feel comfortable, would you be willing to stay and watch over my mother? I trust Don Albert's judgment, and I believe you have the strength and dedication to ensure her well-being."

Before Natasha could say something Danial continued " And remember I neither forced you nor I tricked you, if you feel you are not comfortable feel free to say so and if that's the case I won't hold it against you."

Natasha widened her eyes and said hastily " No Master Danial I am willing to stay by your mother's side and protect her diligently."

Danial looked at Natasha intently and said in a gentle yet firm tone

"Natasha, I want to make sure you're fully committed to this decision," Danial addressed her. "Leaving your past behind and taking on the responsibility of protecting my mother is not a task to be taken lightly. Can you assure me that you are prepared for this role, ready to devote yourself entirely to her well-being?"

Natasha's gaze met Danial's, her eyes reflecting a mix of determination and vulnerability. She took a deep breath, summoning her courage, and responded with unwavering resolve.

"Master, I am willing to give me all to protect your mother," Natasha spoke softly but with conviction. "I understand the weight of my past, and I am committed to using my skills and experiences for good. I have severed ties with the Last Wish, and my loyalty now lies solely with you and your mother."

Danial studied her, searching for any signs of deceit or hesitation. But all he found was a sincere desire for redemption and an earnest plea for trust. He nodded slowly, a glimmer of faith emerging within him.

"Very well, Natasha," Danial said, his voice carrying a mix of caution and hope. "I will give you this chance, but know that my mother's safety is my top priority. I expect unwavering loyalty and dedication from you."

Danial continued " It's a demanding task that requires not only physical prowess but also a compassionate heart. If you are willing to devote yourself to this cause, I will trust you to watch over my mother. But know this, the safety and well-being of my family are paramount. I will hold you accountable for any lapse in your duty."

Natasha nodded her expression a mixture of gratitude and determination. "I understand, Master. I won't let you down."

Natasha nodded, expressing gratitude and determination. "I understand, Master. I won't let you down."

Danial agreed with a nod and turned to Albert. "Now that her decision is made, we need to introduce her to my mother and make arrangements for her to stay in the house. The crucial part is finding a way to present her to my mother in a manner that convinces her to accept Natasha as a live-in guest."

Both Danial and Albert pondered for a while until Danial suddenly exclaimed, "I have an idea!"

The following day, Danial took Sophie shopping. Initially hesitant, Danial's mother reluctantly agreed to join them.

While browsing through the aisles of the shopping mall, an accidental collision brought Natasha face-to-face with Danial and his mother. Apologizing profusely, Natasha began sharing her life's challenges.

Natasha described working tirelessly, juggling multiple shifts to barely make ends meet, and enduring mistreatment from her landlord. Her words were filled with both vulnerability and determination.

Listening intently, Danial and his mother couldn't help but empathize with Natasha's plight. They understood the harsh reality she faced and the need for compassion and support in her life.

Moved by Natasha's story, Danial's mother spoke up, her voice filled with sympathy. "I can't imagine how difficult things must be for you, Natasha. No one should have to endure such hardships."

Danial added, "Natasha, your strength and determination are truly inspiring. We want to help you."

Natasha's eyes welled up with gratitude as she replied, "Thank you so much. Your kindness means the world to me."

Danial's mother nodded, her face displaying compassion. "You deserve a safe and stable place to stay. You can live with us, Natasha. Consider our home your home."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Natasha found it hard to articulate her gratitude. "I... I don't know what to say. This is more than I could have ever hoped for. Thank you."

Danial watched from the sidelines and secretly admired Natasha's acting skills.

After that meeting, his mother insisted they take Natasha with them but Danial revoked saying it was too early and they need to repair the house first then they can take Natasha in with them as a stay-in guest.

Sophie contemplate for a while and then said to Natasha " Give us your contact number and believe us that we will call you back "

Natasha on the other hand was secretly happy and excited that Master Danial's plan worked and now she has a chance to serve him. She then gave them her contact number and Sophie stuffed some money notes into Natasha's hand and then took Danial's hand and walked away.

Natasha was in a daze as he looked at the money note that Sophie stuffed into her hand. She was not thinking about the money that Sophie stuffed because as an assassin he was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for her work.

She didn't understand how could someone have a soo kind heart that she was willing to help someone she met without thought.  In all of her life, she saw people that would work only when something benefited them even her so-called assassin friends would call her out to hang out just because of the higher rank she had than them.

Meanwhile, Danial and Sophie reached the house. Sophie expressed her doubts saying " When we will get the house fixed?"

Danial comforted her and said " Mom leave that to me I will work something out"

Sophie laughed and exaggerated " What are you gonna do call the boss of the underworld to fix your house, or call the head of an organization to come and fix my house"

Danial widened his eyes and looked at her in surprise. He then quickly adjusted and said, "Come on Mom I am at least trying."

Who would have thought that everything his mother said was actually true.

Danial and Sophie laughed to ease the atmosphere and went to rest. Danial then realised it was about to hit 8 am and he had to go to the Somerland Law Enforcement organization so he hurriedly bid goodbye and hailed a cap to the location mentioned on the card that Marshal Barns gave him
