It was a bright sunny day in the town of Welford, with its usual array of clouds. It was the perfect weather for a walk through the park. A certain child walked hand in hand with another small boy. They were on their way to spend some time playing in the nearby park. Derrick could be seen with Liza where she was holding his hand as they walked along the path, occasionally swinging their hands and laughing at each other. Liza was always laughing about something; whether it had something to do with him or something he said. He found it rather funny when she laughed, but not all that often, especially when he had done something dumb. Or so he thought.
"You know, we have been dating for two years now. Isn't that right? You remember when we first met? And it still feels like yesterday." She said while they made their way through the park.
He looked down at her, a large smile plastered across his face. "Yeah, I remember. I don't really get how you put up with me though."
She let out an indignant noise, placing a hand against her chest in mock offense. "Oh, Derrick. That's quite rude. Besides, even if you weren't my boyfriend, I still would be happy spending time with you every single day. We're together, right?" She gave him one of her signature smiles before wrapping her arm around his waist. "We're in love!" She added, her voice growing slightly louder than necessary.
They both burst into laughter as they made their way towards one of the swings. They stopped near the edge, staring off into the distance. Derrick took a deep breath before speaking. "You know... I never thought this would happen to us... But I wouldn't change anything about being your boyfriend."
As he spoke, she wrapped her arms around his middle from behind, giving him a gentle squeeze. "Me either. I'm just happy that we're together like this, even if we haven't been officially together for long."
Liza placed her head on his shoulder as they watched the birds fly by. She leaned into him a bit more and smiled at the sight. "Hey... Do you think the boys are going to find us here?" Her voice was low enough so only he could hear her, and he chuckled slightly. "I hope not." Derrick said as he looked over his shoulders. "Speak of an angel and he makes an apparition." A voice said from beside them, the two turned to see none other than Uriel in a blue suit, standing next to their bench.
Uriel was dressed in black pants, a white shirt, dark blue blazer, and a red tie. In her hands, she held what seemed to be a book. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be the Bible. She raised her eyebrows and glanced between the two. "I don't mean to intrude, was glancing through this... Bible and man! Do you guys have it all wrong." Uriel asked before walking over and sitting down next to them.
"What are you doing here Uriel?" Derrick asked as he adjusted himself a little to try and sit up straighter.
Uriel shrugged her shoulders a bit. "I came to drop you a message." She said as she opened up to a random page. "See! Everyone upstairs knows it wasn't an apple Adam ate!" She pointed towards the text on the page.
"So what does this have to do with me and Liza?" Derrick asked with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "The coronation of the new king of Hell is midnight, We need the slayer of the former leader to be there, it's a rite of passage." The angel explained as she closed the book. Derrick gave a slight nod of agreement before turning to Liza. "Alright, I'll be there... it's been a while since I saw those guys anyways." Derrick mumbled, looking down at his shoes.
Before either had a chance to say anything else, Uriel stood up suddenly, causing both Derrick and Liza to look in shock. "Well I've got some stuff I should be getting back to, but thanks for letting me talk to you two." She said as she walked away.
Liza turned to look at her boyfriend, concern etched across her features. "Are you alright? Is something bothering you?"
Derrick scratched the back of his neck and shook his head, hoping that whatever was bugging him was gone once Uriel left. "No, I'm fine, it's just... going back to that place, the torture I faced, it's all weird I guess." Derrick said as he gave her a warm smile and gently squeezed her fingers. "That was under Lucifer's reign, it's all okay now alright?" Liza said reassuringly. "Yeah, yeah you're right." He nodded, leaning forward and kissing her forehead quickly.
Liza returned his kiss with one of her own before standing and offering him a hand. "Come on, let's go enjoy the evening, then we can go home. Sound good to you?" Derrick smiled as he grabbed her hand and pulled himself up.
"Sounds great," He said as they started walking again. Liza let out a giggle and placed a kiss onto his cheek before returning his gesture.
After that moment, the two walked together hand in hand to the park exit. Once they'd exited the park they made their way home, enjoying the fresh air and each other's company until finally reaching his home. Derrick stood at the balcony , gazing upwards at the full moon. As he did so, he began to think about what had happened during the past year. It felt surreal, like everything had just happened in his mind. He began having flashbacks of his time in Hell, the Void and Lucifer's torture. It scared him at times, because it reminded him too much of the memories that were left inside his head. However, he was sure that things would return to normal soon. After all, the demons were all gone, and he was sure the other angels would help keep everything running smoothly in Heaven.
Liza stepped up behind him, hugging him from behind and resting her head on his shoulder. "Everything will turn out alright Der, don't worry..." She said softly. He slowly wrapped his free arm around her waist, smiling lightly at the touch.
He sighed, bringing a finger to rest on the railing of the balcony. Liza wrapped her arms around his torso again, giving him a quick kiss to the back of the neck before whispering in his ear. "I love you Derrick."
With that, the two shared a kiss. It got hotter as he lifted her into the air, carrying her bridal style back into the house. When they reached his room, Derrick set her down onto his bed gently, taking in the sight of her. Her hair was disheveled from him grabbing hold of her tightly to carry her around. Liza smirked, reaching her hands up and untying her hair before releasing it from it's tight ponytail. She threw the braid on the side of the bed, allowing her curls to tumble freely down her back. She removed her sweater, revealing her black sports bra and black lace panties. Derrick was stunned, unable to form words due to her sudden appearance. Liza noticed his silence and laughed.
"Don't say anything." She said as she walked toward him. She wrapped her arms around his neck before bringing herself down to meet him half way. Their lips met, tongues dancing together as they kissed deeply. Liza slid one leg up his calf, climbing ever so carefully onto his lap. His hands rested upon her hips as she wrapped hers around the base of his neck. He pulled away for a second and gazed at her lovingly.
"You're beautiful you know." He whispered as he placed kisses along the side of her neck. She shivered slightly beneath him, causing him to chuckle lightly as he continued to pepper her skin with affection.
Once he reached the top of her breast, she tilted her head back and moaned slightly in response to his touch. His mouth found its way down her body, leaving a trail of fire wherever he went. He reached her underwear, slipping them down her legs and pulling them off completely. Liza moved down the bed, allowing him access to her stomach, where he proceeded to kiss. Her legs spread outwards slightly, inviting him to continue. Soon he had taken off his own jeans, tossing them aside as well as the socks and his shoes. He lay her gently down on the bed before he crawled between her legs. She gasped as he pressed kisses down the center of her chest, moving up to her face.
Once they had come to a stop, Liza looked up at him, admiring the view in front of her. For a split second, she couldn't remember why they were doing this. Everything seemed... perfect. She didn't want to ruin it, and yet she wanted it all too much to care. She loved seeing Derrick lose control in such a manner, it was so sweet and innocent. It was almost as if no memory or stress existed in his eyes. It was just him, alone with her. "I love you too Liza." Derrick said as he planted a final kiss before pulling away slightly to stare into her eyes.
"God, I love you so fucking much." His voice broke slightly. Liza cupped his cheeks and brought him down to meet her lips again, savoring the moment. "C'mon, I need to get ready for the coronation." Derrick said as they separated once more. Liza sat up slightly, giving him an evil smirk.
"Then hurry up." With that, she rolled off the bed. "Be a shame if you didn't finish what you started." She said with a wink before she disappeared into his closet, slamming the door shut after her.
As he watched his girlfriend walk away, Derrick chuckled to himself before getting a pair of black jeans and a white anorak as he sprouted his wings and took off from the balcony.
"Well lookie what we have here! The D Man!" Envy exclaimed as he approached Derrick , who had returned to the throne room to watch the coronation from above.
"Hey Envy." Derrick replied, smiling briefly as he stared up at the throne where Lucifer used to sit. "What's good bro? You guys really cleared the place." Derrick said as he looked around the throne room, the walls were painted bright red with gold accents, it's floor was carpeted with a shiny black marble, the whole room was illuminated by candles, which reflected light from every surface except from the windows in the far corner. A huge chandelier hung high over the entrance and it caused the room to seem even brighter and bigger than usual. Contradicting the fact that it was supposed to be a place of torment and despair. "Yup, had to clear out the old man's idea of 'Hell'... and don't get me wrong, every soul seems t here must suffer for their sins but at least... a little class wouldn't be so harsh." Greed said as he folded his arms and leaned against a pillar in the room. "Where's Wrath?" Derrick asked as he looked over Greed's head.
Envy shrugged. "Said he needed some alone time."
Just as Greed had spoken, Wrath came through the main entrance of the throne room wearing only a pair of black shorts and an oversized black hoodie over his usual suit and tie. His eyes immediately fell on Envy, and he gave a faint smile before approaching them. demons and angels, I present to you... Your new King of Hell." Wrath said as he gestured toward Derrick.
Derrick bowed politely. "Nice to meet you, my lord, welcome." He said with a sarcastic smile, shaking Wrath's hand.
"Likewise," Wrath said, "now shall we begin?"

"The coronation is about to begin, my liege. Please stand up so we may commence the ceremony." The announcer announced loudly.
Wrath stood up and straightened his suit. His eyes scanned his subjects from the balcony as he waited for someone to give him the signal. At first glance, it looked as if everyone was stiff until Derrick cleared his throat and gave a slight nod signalling Wrath was good to go. When it was time for Wrath to sit on the throne, he requested that his brothers stand by his side. In honor of Lust.
"And it is with great honor and prestige that I crown you, The New Prince Of Hell!" The announcer announced loudly as he placed the crown on Wrath's head, hs eyes gave a red glow as wings sprouted out of his back. The demons gave loud cheers from all around, clapping and whistling. Once the cheering died down, it became quiet again as the announcer spoke. "Now then, I believe we can all go on with our usual activities. We're expecting a new batch of unrighteous souls so I suggest you all get your torment skills ready." He gave a small smile before leaving the throne room.
As the angels watched the event from Heaven, Gabriel called Michael aside in a hurry. "Come with me brother, I have something to tell you." He said as he tugged Michael's arm. "Can it wait? I need to make sure nothing goes wrong in this ceremony." "I'm afraid not brother, this is far too important." Gabriel insisted, trying to keep his emotions hidden from Michael.
Michael rolled his eyes and followed his brother silently. They reached a secluded part of the building that belonged to the high ranking angels. "I've been keeping this secret for far too long and I fear the time has come to share it with you." Gabriel said as he looked around him cautiously causing Michael to grow suspicious. "What is it Gabriel?" Michael asked folding hs arms. "It's father Michael, God is back. And he seeks to reset his universe." Gabriel said quietly. "But how is this possible Gabriel? Father has been lost to us for aeons." Michael replied bewildered. "Surely you know this universe isn't the only one there is. He's been around every other one, destroying, rebuilding and well... creating again and again. And he's back to do the same for this one." Gabriel explained.
Michael shook his head. "Father would never do something like that." He said. Gabriel sighed before looking down, his shoulders slumped. "He's already started it my brother, it's only a matter of time before he reaches here." Gabriel said with a grim look on his face. "You're damn right I have." A voice said behind Gabriel and Michael causing them to slightly jump as they turned to see who it was. "Hello boys, it's been a long long time." The figure said as he wore a sly smirk across his face. "Father..." Michael said in utter disbelief.
