Michael awoke days after his battle with Derrick at the ancient temple, as he slowly got up his entire frame ached. His wings felt broken, the ones that hadn't been destroyed from that day's attacks were in a horrible state, so it took him more time than it should have to get used to them. He could still feel his wounds from Derrick smiting him during the fight and though they hurt like hell they did not bleed anymore. "Impossible... I am the unbeatable. What is this?" Michael asked as he looked around till his eyes landed on Uriel in an equally bad shape, if not worse. Splint kept coming out of her wings , some pieces of bone sticking out of her feathers which was making Michael sick and made his heart pound loudly.
"How can she move and walk at this rate?!" Michael said to himself. "Uriel?!" Michael shouted as he called to his sister but the words only came out as a whisper because his voice hurt and was so hoarse and cracked. After a while, she awoke as she kept coughing blood. Michael ran towards her, "I'm sorry" he whispered softly as she looked up at him. "It's okay Michael...it wasn't your fault" she whispered back, her voice sounded rough, scratchy and weak. It hurt him to hear his sister talk like that. She was stronger than all of these demons. "That bastard demon prince!" Michael said as he gritted his teeth. "You'll know pain!" He screamed despite the burning pain in his voice as he picked Uriel up from the ground, stretching his wings as he took to the sky, not caring if his feathers fell out or he got spotted by anyone from the ground.
Derrick on the other hand grew rapidly in power as he practiced with his newly equipped Lance. Wrath had been sparring with him for a few weeks, when he noticed his improvement. "You're growing stronger, even your aura can be perceived from a mile away. "I feel it too, the burn, the drive. Luci won't know what hit him." Derrick said as he let out a short laugh. "Let's go teach save the world." Wrath said as he gave a smug grin. "I agree, I want everyone to see just how powerful I've become." Derrick added as he started sprinting down the mountain where they trained. The two of them were going fast enough to make themselves dizzy, but they didn't stop, they couldn't stop. They needed to be ready everything. After they reached the bottom of the mountain. The others stared at Derrick in amazement. He grew taller, became more brawny and had a more defined jawline with a trace of stubble. His hair was longer and blacker and his irises were red. Everything about him seemed sharper. "Dude, you look good." Lust said. "Tell me something I don't know." Derrick said as he looked at his physique. "No one told us he'd get hotter!" Alastair said as she threw her arms up in the air and laughed. "I guess being the demon prince comes with its perks." Greed said as he chuckled. They all started talking at once until their attention went back to the current situation at hand. "Come on, let's get a move on." Derrick said as they all circled Derrick before they teleported back to his apartment. As everyone relaxed and prepared for their late night training session a loud noise could be heard coming from outside, one that sounded like a meteor crashing in and in the blink of an eye a huge fireball crashed into Derrick's apartment from the window.
Everyone jumped back shocked, not expecting such a thing. Then they realized it was coming from the direction of Derrick's bedroom. "What the hell happened?!" Envy yelled. "Something must have gotten in!" Sloth thought. "We need to investigate" Wrath said before he charged at the fire that was engulfing Derrick's bedroom. As he drew nearer an angel came out of the flames completely unscathed by the fiery catastrophe behind him. He had the look of hatred in his eyes as he pointed to Derrick. "You wounded my brother and sister. I'm here to even the score." He said as he charged Derrick in a split second. "Oh shit!" Everyone else exclaimed. "Wait, isn't that....?!" Sloth asked. "Yes, yes it is." Lust said. "But how would he have gotten past the wards?" Greed questioned. "I don't know! All I know is that Derrick needs our help and we need to move now!" Gluttony said as he followed the trail of fire the man left behind in his combat with Derrick. Derrick on the other hand remained unfazed by the angel's attacks, in a minute Derrick simply gave him a light slap that sent the angel flying backwards. "Raphael I presume? I was hoping we'd talk soon enough." Derrick said as he dusted his shirt. "I'm not one to talk, you hurt Michael and Uriel." Raphael said as he got up from the ground. "They brought in upon themselves. Don't make me give you the same fate." Derrick said as he cracked his fingers preparing to charge Raphael. However Raphael suddenly disappeared, as he reappeared in front of Derrick's face. Before either could react Raphael slapped Derrick across the face, sending him flying backward and smashing against the wall, leaving a large dent behind. "Fuck!" Derrick cursed as he touched his head.
"Are you alright?" Lust asked worriedly as the demons approached Derrick. "Yeah I'm fine, I'll try to talk with him but if push becomes shove..." Derrick paused as he got up. As Raphael appeared once again he stared intently at Derrick waiting for the right time to strike. "I don't want to fight you. Come, let's talk." Derrick said as he said down on the floor trying to show he meant no harm. In response Raphael lunged at Derrick who barely blocked him and then threw him against the wall again, cracking the concrete behind him. The demons watched with fear as Derrick got slammed back against the wall a few times still not moving a muscle. As Raphael saw Derrick didn't dedlect his attacks, he slowed down till he stopped completely and then backed off slightly. The demons rushed forward and tried to subdue thebArchangel. "Let him be." Derrick commanded as he stepped forward. "Now that you've gotten that out of your system, can we talk?" Derrick said. "Fine... you have my attention." Raphael said as he tucked his wings. As they sat, Derrick tried to explain to him what Lucifer planned on doing, how it'd destroy the world and everything in it. Raphael listened carefully to the whole speech before he spoke again."So you believe this plan will destroy Lucifer?" He said.
"Of course, it will!" Derrick answered confidently. Raphael looked deep in thought, thinking of what to say next. "But you're aware that if Lucifer dies, the balance of the world shifts. A new person would need to be the king of Hell to even the balance." Raphael said. Derrick was taken aback by this piece of information, he had no idea and hadn't even considered what'd happen after Lucifer is gone. "I guess there has to be another way." He finally admitted "but there might not be one." Raphael replied. "Yeah well we'll make one." Derrick said as he crossed his arms. Raphael sighed heavily before he answered, "I really hope you know what you're doing." Raph said as he rubbed his eyes with his fingers. "It's either this or Earth's gone. I'll take my chances Derrick said as he turned to leave. "I suppose I wouldn't get any disturbances from your family henceforth." Derrick said as he walked away from the scene of the fight. Raphael took a short pause before saying. "You have my word." He said as he sprout his wings taking off to the skies. Derrick smirked at Raphael. As he got further away he stopped and looked back at Raphael in surprise to find that he had already vanished. "Huh. Guess angels aren't that bad after all." Derrick said under his breath as he continued walking to home with Pride and the others. Once he arrived at his home he proceeded to eat a snack before lying back on his bed. He closed his eyes as exhaustion washed over him but he knew sleep wouldn't come for a long time. "Is everyone okay?" Derrick asked as he saw everyone in the room. "Yeah, a little bit worn out but yeah." Envy said as he helped Alastair seat on the couch. "Are you okay?" Pride asked Derrick. "Yeah, I am." Derrick replied. "You sure?" Sloth asked. "Why wouldn't I be?" Derrick asked as he shrugged. "Because that fight was pretty intense, and I know how straining it can be." Wrath said. "I'm fine, I promise. I'm sorry if I act cold or anything like that it's just... I need to be prepared, I can't take any chances or else Lucifer gets the upper hand." Derrick explained. "We get that, if you ever feel stressed. Remember we're here for you." Lust said as he tapped Derrick on his solider. "Thanks I appreciate it, really." Derrick said as he gave a soft smile before he retreated to his bedroom to get a little shut eye.
