Chapter 27 - If only...

"What?"

Chris tried not to seem too affected. For one, he already knew that Sky wasn't homophobic, but his choice of words had rather taken him aback.

"I mean, they are obviously older than us. And also, it seemed like they were a couple, and they were asking us—who they assumed was also a couple—to join them for sex? That's so disgusting. Why would I be crazy to share my partner with someone else? Or share myself with someone else when I have a partner?"

"Oh..."

That made Chris feel less tense.

"You don't see anything wrong with it?" Sky asked him in a serious tone.

"I don't know." He answered honestly. He'd never had a partner to keep to himself, so...

"You don't seem pissed about the offer," Sky noted.

"It's not the first time I've been asked."

"What? Really?" He looked genuinely surprised.

"Why do you look so surprised? Is this your first time being asked?" Chris asked him curiously.

"Hmm... Well, maybe...?"

Chris eyed him. "That's impossible."

"I think some ladies have hinted. But not outrightly, and certainly not a weird perverted older couple."

"What did you do then?" Chris asked, genuinely curious since he knew next to nothing about Sky's sex life.

"I don't just go about having sex with people I don't love."

"Wait... for real? You are one of those people who believe love and sex have to go together?" Chris asked, surprised.

"Shouldn't it?"

"So you've only had sex with people you love?"

That was it. He was getting there. Or maybe he thought he was because the invincible wall stood in his path again.

"I won't discuss my sex life with you," Sky said, returning to his food.

"Do not tell me you are shy? Come on, guys always talk about this. Or... are you a virgin?" Chris teased. He could even bet his life on the fact that Sky wasn't.

"Would you believe it if someone told you I was a virgin?" Sky asked, amused.

"Never."

Sky laughed but frowned when he noticed Mike and Ken leaving.

"We're sorry again," Ken said politely as they walked past them.

Sky hissed and looked away from them. "They seemed more interested in you. You must have looked gayer to them than I."

Even though Sky sounded serious, Chris could hear the humour in his tone.

"Do you want to know the real reason they were focused on me?" Chris asked, deciding to mess with him.

"Because I look mean, obviously."

"Nah." Chris shook his head, looking amused. "Because they assumed I was the top and could make you join even if you didn't."

"Top? Top?" He was confused for a moment before his voice went higher just as his eyes widened: "TOP?! You've got to be kidding me!" He said this in anger when he understood what Chris meant.

Chris laughed.

"That's plain stupid!"

"Why? You want to be the top?" Chris asked with an amused smirk.

"I know you're like only an inch taller than I am, but that doesn't mean shit," Sky said, not amused at all.

"Oh... you can swear," Chris said, still amused before looking him up and down.

"You... think I cannot pin you down?" He asked in a quiet, flirty tone as his eyes roamed over the visible parts of Sky's body.

Well, it may be very challenging. But if Sky gave in and tried not to fight him, it would be easy to pin him down and explore his body. His eyes kept roaming until they got to Sky's lips. Damn! He had really pretty lips.

He began to feel himself stir. The direction their conversation had taken was obviously bad for him, and now he could not get the image out of his head—the arrogant, annoying Sky. Beneath him. Under his mercy. Crying out his name. Moaning, groaning.

"Maybe you could if you worked out some more. Why not join the gym?" Sky said, breaking him out of his lustful thoughts.

Chris didn't answer immediately. He was aroused and feared it would show on his face. He looked down and picked up his juice, sipping from it.

He wanted to say something like, "Are you asking me to join the gym so I could actually pin you down one day?"

But he couldn't bring himself to say it. He couldn't keep flirting with this stupid devil.

"Where can I find a good gym I can sign up for?" He asked but still didn't look up. It had actually been on his mind to sign up for one.

"The school's," Sky said casually.

Chris suddenly remembered something and looked up at Sky.

"Oh... I remember you going all, 'please don't kill yourselves because you want to get a membership in the gym just so you could see my pretty face or I will be sad'." Chris said it in a dramatic tone with a hand on his chest, making Sky laugh since he knew exactly what Chris was talking about.

"I didn't sound like that."

"Oh, sure, you did. It was so cringy I felt like throwing up my lunch."

"Don't be a hater. You can come to the gym. I will save a slot for you."

"I won't join any sports. I know that's one of the criteria."

"Why not? Pick one."

"No."

He didn't want to. He only took up soccer because of someone. At first, because he wanted to be on the same team. Then later, because he wanted to be a competitor. That way, they still met. They still fought.

He remembered the picture he also saw a few minutes ago.

"You have that look again. What is wrong?" Sky asked. He sounded concerned.

"It's nothing," Chris said dismissively.

"It's so hard to read you."

"Me?" Chris asked in surprise.

He was the hard one to read!

"You look open enough, but at the same time, you look like you have so many secrets. It's difficult to understand you just like it is difficult to tell the real colour of your eyes."

"What?" Chris asked in confusion as he kept looking at Sky, who hadn't broken eye contact with him.

"It's blue, isn't it? The real colour." Sky asked.

Chris was taken aback. How did he know that?

However, he didn't lie. "Yeah," he answered.

"Why are you hiding it when it's pretty?" Sky sounded honestly confused when he asked.

There was no way Chris could tell the truth without telling him about his real identity, so instead, he said, "I do not like the colour. Do not tell anyone about it." He sounded dismissive again.

Sky looked like he wanted to say more, but he swallowed it and nodded.

Chris observed that Sky looked like he could understand him, which was why he wasn't pushing for an answer. He desperately wanted to ask him what he had meant last night about hating his body, but he didn't want to bring it up. He didn't want him to be uncomfortable.

"Should we go now? Get a few groceries?" Sky asked him.

"Sure."

Sky called the waiter, and even though Chris tried to pay, Sky refused and paid for the two of them.

As they headed for the main mall, Sky greeted a few friends while Chris just watched from the side.

As much as he hated his guts, Sky drove him crazy. And he hated it.

He had only known him for a few days. How would he live until the end of the semester?

When he got home later, after their shopping and after Sky had disappeared again to God knows where, Chris received a call from Wilson, asking whether he was really moving.

"Move to where?" Chris asked in confusion.

"Didn't you say you were no longer going to live with your roommate and would never speak to him anymore? I thought you were making solid plans to move?"

"Oh..." Chris suddenly remembered he had said that.

If only Wilson knew...

If only.
