Sky turned sharply, his face a mix of irritation and something he couldn't quite mask. "Pretending what doesn't affect me?"
Chris tilted his head, his facial expression softening into something almost sincere. "This," he said, gesturing faintly to the nearly nonexistent space between them.
Sky's jaw tightened. He stared at Chris like he was trying to solve a puzzle he didn't want to finish. Finally, he muttered, "You're impossible," before turning back to the screen.
Chris chuckled, settling back but keeping their legs firmly pressed together. "And yet, here you are," he said, echoing the earlier tease.
The movie continued, but the real drama was unfolding on that bed. Chris let the charged silence stretch, savoring the moment. A couple on screen shared a quick kiss, calling it their first kiss.
Then, as if the thought had just occurred to him, he broke it.
"So," he said casually, eyes on the screen, "When did you have your first kiss, Mei?"
