"According to record there was a time a mere human male caught the eye of one of the old gods. He was devout to her and her only, however one day his village was raided and his entire family killed. It was his turn to be put on the guillotine when he offered one last prayer to the goddess," the stranger I now knew as Hellos spoke.
"At the very last moment there was a blinding light and then unimaginable screams and all the raiders were dead leaving only Lukio the man who caught the goddess Hecate's eye."
"She saved him and stayed with him, eventually falling in love with him and bearing children with Lukio." A faint smile graced his face before he continued.
"Although everything was paradise, the time came for Hecate to go back to ceruri; this broke the heart of her love and children but had to be done. Before leaving she blessed them and they became the first witches, the original magic bloodline. You could see it in their eyes."
"They had children of their own, passing their magic down the generation and only followed Hecate the mother goddess but somewhere along the line chaos ensued. There were people who wanted that power and they committed heinous crimes in order to get it. Some of these things were the kidnapping, rape and forced breeding of children who hadn't come of age. Yet and the most inhumane was killing them, draining their blood and consuming it so as to attain temporary power."
My eyes grew wide, probably looking like saucers. How could people do that to children? It was appalling. My mind was filled with all kinds of obscenities and before I knew it I was shaking, "calm yourself Ayden, I'm not done with my story yet," and calm feeling washed over me and I knew it was his doing.
"Some of these people were of two tribes that were constantly at each other's throats and they didn't hesitate to add the witches to their brawl. They were preparing for war and simultaneously took the two oldest daughters of two of the four core covens, Vastilie and Incasso."
"The daughter of the Vastilie coven was held at an alter, she had been abused countless times but was still without child and so they chose to drain her blood and use the twenty four hour power to crush the other tribe. However what they didn't know was that she had come of age and waited for the moment to take them to the grave with her."
"The voice in her mind did not leave her even once, it was strange yet called out to her very soul and somehow she knew it was the mother goddess because what else could it have been? The voice had told her how to take them down and matured her soul before the natural time for one such purpose as this."
"The time came and they saw that there was no need to tie her or gag her because to then she had no will to live on. Her wrists were slit and so was her torso they took pleasure in watching her bleed out before then while they collected her blood in chalices and cursing her with names such as devil blood and hellspawn."
"The bastards were animalistic and cruel relishing her slow death while others took her body; when the moon was at it's peak she began her own downfall along with theirs."
"It was a known fact that she wouldn't last the night and what the voice in her head was telling her to do would at least give her death some meaning. She chanted in the native tongue of her ancestors, tapping into the source of all magic as well as her very soul. It would be the first and last spell that this witch would ever cast and it would be powered by her own death."
"The spell ended as her heart beat for the final time and the men and women who participated in that barbaric act screamed in agony as they felt what it was like for one's body to be dipped in acid."
"The forest grew deathly silent and all that could be heard were the gut wrenching screams. As soon as it started, it stopped and they were transformed into vile creatures that were enslaved to crave the blood they so desperately took for her people. That is how the first vampires came to be, for a curse powered by death was irreversible."

He watched her intently, waiting for a reaction like one before anger but there was nothing. she stared at the table, unmoving while since hung over them menacingly. A few more seconds dragged on until she looked at me and the look he saw in her eyes was one he knew all too well.
Horror, pure and unadulterated. Few people knew what she was finding out only now he could've started from anywhere else what he thought she needed to know most but this was all part of the truth was it not? She needed to know why they were the only two of their kind left in the world.
"What happened to the other tribe and daughter?"She like animatedly most likely still processing what she had just heard and so he continued

I was still reeling from the first revelation and I had a feeling the second one wasn't so great and so I had to prepare myself to swallow down my vomit like I did with the story of those disgusting vampires.
"When word got out that the eldest daughter of the Incasso the mother goddess made herself known again in some way, she sent them humans specifically hunters, who took on the new vampire threat with an unparalleled ease to help track down their coven member because the hunters had skills witches did not."
"They looked through the forest night and day while fending off the montrosities who fed on human flesh and blood. It is an old and unspoken law that nature demands balance in all things and these humans were just that; after all every predator needed prey."
"When they finally reached the second tribe it was unfortunately too late; the vampires got there before and slaughtered them all, man woman and child. The hunters tried their best but these vampires seemed stronger, faster and even more deadly than the ones they had been faced with in the passed few weeks."
"The hunters were overwhelmed, so much so that their veterans were utterly useless. In one desperate attempt a few hunters who served as the rear guard attacked the vampires with a concoction made from the only plant that seemed to have an effect on them. It was enough to drive them away."
"It seemed the heavens ruled in their favor because if it hadn't worked then they too would be an ugly red stain on the ground they knew that this kind couldn't be killed."
"This opportunity was taken and the captive daughter was set free, her power too was awakened and her heart shattered at the carnage before her. The men and women along with their dogs who had risked their lives to save her were now just masses of blood, flesh and bone each one unidentifiable."
"Her heroes mourned their fallen and this only broke her heart further. The goddess spoke again in her mind and she spoke the words aloud exactly as they appeared in her head."
"The mutilated corpses, man and dog alike began to writhe, crawling towards each other as the survivors screamed in a never ending agony. Then there was a blinding light coming from the Incasso; when it faded her body was collapsed on to the alter, but that wasn't the elephant on the room."
"It was the fact that where the corpses once were now stood enormous wolves much larger and fearsome looking than the average wolf and when the moon hid behind the clouds the sound of bones breaking was all you could hear in the forest."
"All nocturnal creatures were dead silent as nature witnessed the spectacle. The wolves were now humans, the very same hunters who had been massacred not long ago. The daughter smiled and breathed her last."
"This is how first werewolves came to be and they became the natural predators of the vampires, the balance nature sought out."
