During their stay at Red Fang Pack, Rowan and Mila often had their meals at the house given for their stay. Sometimes, Landon, Carlos, or Isla would join them. Other times, they would have meals on their own.
Mila cooked most of the time, but Rowan also enjoyed being the chef occasionally. They quickly developed a routine that was easy and worked for both of them.
“How’s it going in the pack?” Mila asked Rowan during breakfast.
“So far nothing out of the usual. Why?”
She shrugged. “I’m trying not to stress Josiah out by asking since I know he’s reporting directly to you. It just seems like the rogues have been quiet since we left the pack.”
Rowan smiled gently. “Maybe they just want to stress me out.”
Mila laughed. “I was starting to think I was the problem. My siblings can be petty and vengeful. But, they haven’t caused any trouble while we were here. I was frightened expecting the rogues would attack as soon as we left.”
