"Congratulations Graduates! Now, a word from our very special Valedictorian." The principal of the Academy of Monster Genetics had a smile on his beak while his beige feathers ruffled slightly.
The Avian man finished giving his principal speech to this new graduating class as he welcomed up the most important person in the world, The Blessed Child. The graduates and teachers went wild, knowing that the futures of their children and grandchildren were on his shoulders.
Most of the women went crazy like they were at some boy band concert while the men clapped but cursed him in their minds. He basically had the dream job of any man, and while they didn't know the horrors of what he would actually have to deal with, it didn't change their thoughts about him.
Cain was basically the enemy of all men since all women loved him. Most of the women in the crowd, students and faculty alike, had flushed faces or bit their lips. Cain was smart, attractive, and could probably knock them up in an instant if he wanted to.
Many beastwomen who felt more of their primal instincts to mate had a hard time staying composed, while some who were in their heat cycles had to be taken out of the auditorium for trying to jump him.
One shocking side effect of his strange genes was that he was literally a chick magnet. The pheromones he produced were like an aphrodisiac to women and it affected beastwomen the most.
"Thank you, Principal Wright. While most of you know me, I will still introduce myself," Cain began as he smiled at the crowd behind the podium, "My name is Cain Alderman and yes, I am the Blessed Child most people refer to me by."
Cheers, whistles, claps, howls, and screeches echoed in the hall as most of the students and faculty celebrated after his few words.
He sighed quietly, still getting it picked up on the sensitive mana-powered microphone before continuing.
"While many of you think of me as some grand being, I am not. I'm just me, a human. I may have special genes but that doesn't change the fact that I am still a person just like you all. I have my own hopes and dreams and I thank all the faculty here for providing us with the education we require to live out our dreams.
"I want to save this world," Cain got serious for a moment, "We are in dire straights to be direct, and whether we like it or not, we all have to do our part to ensure our survival. If we cannot find a solution to the problems that plague our world, we will fall to ruin before our grandchildren are born, if they can be born at all.
"We all have our roles to play in order to bring our world back to life. It will be difficult, impossible maybe, but we will fight, no matter the cost, for our survival in this world. I just have a slightly more important part."
Cain ended with a joke, earning giggles and laughs from most of the females in the room and those who liked him. The men only gave sarcastic laughs or grumbled and cursed him under their breaths.
"Thank you for everything you have given me, and I hope you all do well in life as fellow graduates!" Cain ended his speech, lying through his teeth as he looked out at those around the room.
Several of the faculty thought his ending was a bit... strange but brushed it off since they were too happy to realize the underlying meaning of his speech. Cain smirked, mostly to himself for bullshitting his speech and sincerely thanking them for all the money and expensive resources that he used for his own personal research to potentially earn his freedom.
With his speech done, the principal came back up and spoke for a while longer while he went to sit down. The rest of the ceremony was boring, and mostly frustrating for him as people kept coming up to him, getting touchy, flirty, and outright dirty so he quickly dashed out of the building when it was over.
He quickly made his way back to his room to find his stuff already packed and ready to leave. Just as he was grabbing his stuff, there was a knock on the door so he sighed and went to open it.
Opening the door, he found a beautiful woman with furry animal ears atop her head and a fluffy tail swishing behind her. She had pursed lips, tapped her foot, and glared at him, making him smile wryly.
"Hey Luna." He started to sweat slightly, realizing he forgot something, rather someone important.
"Jerk! Ditching your best friend after flirting with our entire graduating class." Luna growled at him, revealing her sharp canines.
"I wasn't flirting!" Cain defended himself, "I can't just curse them off like some young master or they really will stick me in a jail cell for the rest of my life."
Luna smirked, seeing she got under his skin, and invited herself in. She brushed her hail up against his body, making it go stiff.
"Wait you're already packed?!" She cried out in shock as she saw all his stuff together in his now empty room.
"Well yeah, I said I wanted to leave after graduation. Were you not listening?" He questioned her and her ears drooped as her mood did as well.
They perked back up as she pouted at him before leaving his room again.
"Jerk! How was I supposed to know you wanted to leave RIGHT after graduation? I thought you meant by the next day at the earliest, not the next 10 minutes!" She complained, this time smacking him with her tail, giving him a mouthful of fur.
He tried to spit out the fur he caught as the canine beastwoman left huffing and puffing.
"I'll meet you by the docks, I need to meet with the High Council first." Cain yelled out to her down the hall and she only swished her tail back in annoyance.
Cain chuckled and sighed at his 'misery.'
Luna Grey. A canine beastwoman with a grey wolf lineage. She was probably the only person in this entire Academy, and the entire city, that he could truly call a friend. They met early on, when he was first admitted into the academy at the tender age of 9.
She was a few years older, but in the same starting class as him. They became quick friends, which quickly grew stronger as the years went on as Cain slowly realized what situation he was actually in. He would have been alone in this struggle for freedom if it wasn't for her offering her shoulder when he needed it.
While most, if not all women on this campus chased after him for his sperm, she was after him for something else. She was a true friend, his best friend, and she even helped him in his studies and personal studies for leverage against the High Council he was making his way to now.
She kept his secret, knowing just how much pressure was actually on him and how awful he was treated. It hurt her to watch him grow up like livestock, being fattened up until they were ready to slaughter him for all the races to eat.
It made her Lupine blood boil at how awful this world was becoming and she wanted nothing more than to get back at the people who always tried to push or threaten her away from Cain. She took their threats, and even beatings head-on, never backing down.
She was the daughter of an Alpha-Beta pair back in her hometown so it was against her ideals, and own personal grudge, to back down from a fight. She never mentioned these things to Cain, afraid to put even more strain on his back so that was why she was actually fine with leaving right away.
While she said she wasn't ready, she actually was. Long before Cain in fact as she already packed away most of her stuff the week before, much to her roommate's confusion. She wagged her tail happily as it gave away her true feelings while her face had a frown.
She had a quickened pace as she made her way back to her room, before leaving for the docks to make sure the two of them had their tickets for their trip. While she did that, Cain took his things within a storage ring, an expensive item given to him as a 'gift' which he abused generously, toward the Lailan Council.
It held all his stuff and more, including his deadly leverage against the High Council. It was the day he would fight for his freedom and a deciding factor for the fate of the world.
"Time to stir up trouble." He chuckled to himself as he entered a chamber similar to the one his mother went into 13 years ago when she was told by her fellow High Council members to "give him up" and "just have another child."
His blood ran cold as he looked at the 5 chairs up high in the loft of the chamber with one seat missing. The seat that was once his mother's and had yet to be filled.
