-Luna's POV-
While putting on my clothes just after waking up for the morning. I heard a bird on my apartment complex window it was a crow, but it looked off. The color of the crows' eyes was the color amber. I simply thought I was hallucinating because I haven't put in my contacts yet. So, I put in my contacts and started my boring daily life. Grabbed my journal and called my only friend who's always available for morning coffee. I went out, walked along the path to my favorite cafe. That even has cats as little companions in there for when people feel lonely. As the breeze swept through my hair while walking in the cafe. I saw my friend Violet.
"Hey Luna!" Violet shouted, while I was walking up to our table, she had already ordered for us our usual. "Hey, hey shh!!" I said while asking "You're more hyped than usual. Why is that?" Violet looked around trying to dodge the question I previously asked. After the silence, she began to confront me about my love life saying "Luna listen to me, I think you should start going on dates. I want you to stop being a loner who just reads novels all day. Get out there and enjoy your 20's while you still can!" Violet said while aggressively finishing her coffee. I hate to admit it, but she was right… "Okay I see where you're coming from." I said then Violet told me she had already set me up for a blind date. "You did what?!" -I said
Later on, she showed me what the guy looked like. He didn't seem like a bad guy I thought to myself. So, I've decided to put myself out there. Violet agreed she'd help me get ready at 7pm. Me and the guy (Chris) agreed to meet at 9 pm at a 5-star restaurant. Before I realized it the time had gone by unexpectedly and I realized it was time to get ready. I felt a little anxious about this, because I've never been on a real fancy date. During this date I'm just hoping he's a good match. "Am I expecting too much?" I mumbled to myself, while Violet was repeatedly ringing my doorbell. While hearing Violet yelling "Luna if you don't open the door for me this instant, I'll disrupt the neighbors who live here too!". "Shoot! I'm coming... Don't you dare get me in trouble with the neighbors' complaints like last time".
-Meanwhile, Violet's POV-
As I walked in Luna's apartment complex, I could already tell she was a bit nervous for this date. I'm not surprised though. She'd always rather distract herself with a new hobby than involve herself with men. But this time I think she should put herself out there instead. Hence is why I'm helping. In the meantime, I suggested a pretty red silk dress for it to go with her dark brown wavy hair and some black high heels that looked quite like stilettos. I also helped out with the makeup that of course complimented the fit.
-Back to Luna's POV-
I went along with Violet's styling choices, but the high heels were too much I thought to myself. I brought it up to Violet and she spoke that " It's alright" and then threw me out of my own apartment complex. "Okay! I'm off thanks for the help" -I said. While Violet shouted back "No problem have fun!". I made it down the hallway thankfully I somewhat can walk in these heels. My ankles are already aching now. As I got off the Elevator Chris texted me that he's out waiting for me Infront of the unique brick tall building I live in. Right when I stepped out, I could tell his car was a rental. There was a tag on it kind of looked odd, but I didn't want to think too much of it. I told myself to stop being so on guard this time. He pointed out to the car guessing he saw me stare at it. "Oh, you like the ride it's for us tonight." -Chris explained. I snapped out of assuming while saying back "Yeah it's pretty nice, but you didn't have to do all this." I somewhat laughed. Okay well now that makes sense, he just wanted to make a good impression. We got in the car which it didn't take long to arrive at the restaurant. "Wow I forgot how close this restaurant is to my place." I said to Chris while he parked. "I didn't know that either. We could've just have taken a bike hah" he mentioned while we got out the car and walked into the flashy restaurant where it gave off club vibes. Music was blasting so loud and the people in there were all getting drunk. All of a sudden one of the waiters had just come up to us and out of nowhere yelled for Chris. While the waiter ran up to us Chris asked, "What is it that you want?" and the waiter whispered something along the words "I got it....". I was concerned something seemed off when the waiter slipped something to Chris. So, I went to the washroom to think of something as an excuse to leave. I had a gut feeling everything seemed strange. I'm going to walk out there and see what he's doing. Looks like he's messing with my drink. Wow what a sloppy guy and he's easy to read so I think that if I tell him that I don't feel well it might just work. Hmm let's see. "Hey, I'm going to go home I'm suddenly getting a bad headache." -I told Chris "Huh? Why now I mean come on you haven't even touched your drink." He pleaded to me. "Well, I wouldn't drink anything while feeling sick." I said coldly walking fast as possible and hearing Chris yell my name. As I got away from the restaurant, I heard footsteps rushing rapidly that have been following me these past minutes ever since I stepped out that restaurant. I then try to avoid it getting closer to me, so I take off my high heels and run. My head started spinning, I gasped for air while still running. Drizzles of rain falling turned into pouring rain. I stopped hearing the footsteps I'm sure they lost me. Fuck I just ran into some guy it looks like when I tripped on this wet concrete. He was putting a sign up on the cafe I go to. "Shit. I'm sorry I bumped into you."- I said bluntly. He looked down at me saying "You...should be more careful next time. Also, you're bleeding do you need a bandage?" I didn't even notice I was bleeding after scraping my hands and knees. Wait I don't feel the rain pouring on me anymore. Oh, this guy is holding his umbrella up for me that's nice. I thought I was dazed from his presence..."Alright I'm leaving I'm going to assume you're fine then." he said in an ill manner while throwing his umbrella at me. Then as soon as I caught the umbrella I looked up and he disappeared. He was gone in a blink of an eye I thought it was my imagination. I then turned my head and read the sign he put up stating "Hiring now". ..."Well today isn't that bad besides these guys who just happened to all be some d**kheads!" I yelled at the world and got up slowly. While aching from tonight. Just to take a picture of the sign because I've been job searching these days. So, maybe this is an opportunity.
