6 The Best Demon Hunter! [2]

"Kreee!"

Splurt- thud-

"Help me! Ahhhh!"

Splurt-

"Chieftain!! It's a demon raid!"

Clank- clank-

"Andrew!! Help!"

Thud-

"Ahhhh!!!"

"Kreeee!"

"Huff… huff… Damn, I'm weak… Ha!"

Thap-

Bam!

"Ha… ha…"

Andrew engaged in a fierce battle against numerous demons, fighting with all his might.

All the town's fighters were defending their home, buying time for the residents to escape.

Andrew, the chieftain, John, and every person fought to the bitter end.

Yet, no matter how many demons they dispatched, there seemed to be no end to their onslaught.

Chaos reigned as people screamed for help, but how could Andrew assist them?

His hands were already occupied with crushing, slashing, and eliminating the attacking demons.

"Andrew! I believe they have a demon of Baron-level strength!"

The chieftain shouted.

"B-Baron?!"

Everyone who heard this lost their resolve to fight.

After all, a , a distinguished lord was a formidable adversary. Demons were already five times stronger than ordinary humans, and with each level, they gained heightened intelligence. A Baron demon possessed the strategic acumen of a skilled tactician.

This indicated that the demon Baron had meticulously planned this raid and had been biding their time for the perfect moment.

All the screeching demons were mere cannon fodder, easily dispatched.

There were four greater demons and one Baron in their ranks.

As if to confirm their disbelief, a commanding presence entered the battlefield with a burst of demonic laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHA~"

"Feed me your fear! Obey my commands! And sacrifice your lives so that I may ascend to the rank of Viscount sooner~

HAHAHAHAHAH~"

A black, muscular humanoid figure leaped before Andrew and the others. It bore two small dark horns, black skin, and a near-human appearance.

These were the few individuals whom the Baron deemed worthy of attention. If these individuals were not dealt with, his entire army might face annihilation.

Once the presence of the Baron was detected, the four greater demons arrived and knelt in submission.

"Spare the women, kill everyone else, and collect their blood."

The Baron commanded, his tone devoid of any emotion.

"I shall take that boy as my servant; do as you please with the insects." He ordered.

Andrew caught the Baron's interest, slaying cannon-fodder demons with a ruthlessness that treated them as mere pests.

His methods were brutal and savage, which is precisely why the Baron desired to claim him.

If he could corrupt Andrew, he would have the most formidable servant any Baron had ever possessed.

"Like hell, I will."

Andrew muttered, drawing his sword from its sheath and pointing it toward the Baron.

"Hoh~ I'll enjoy playing with you."

The demon remained calm, excessively confident in his abilities.

He was young and a prodigious demon, a true genius.

Born a greater demon, he had advanced to the third circle just five years after reaching adulthood.

A demon prodigy indeed.

"Ha!"

In an instant, Andrew closed the distance and unleashed a swift slash with his sword.

The demon anticipated Andrew's strength, but this attack exceeded his expectations.

Caught off guard, the demon sustained minor injuries to his chest, which promptly regenerated within a minute.

"You bastard!"

The demon seethed with anger, humiliated by the damage inflicted upon him by a mere human.

He vowed to exact revenge.

"Agh!!!"

However, the Baron was too slow to react as Andrew struck once more. This time, his sword emanated a faint green glow.

Andrew unleashed his special attack, 'Wind Slash,' infusing his blade with the power of the wind affinity for a brief moment. With a swift strike, he successfully severed the demon's left arm.

The Baron cried out in agony.

While the Baron did possess regenerative abilities, he could not regrow his lost limb until he ascended to the rank of a Demon Marquess, the supreme warlord, or received assistance from a higher-ranking Dark Priest or Priestess.

"You will pay with your life! I will torment you before I end you!"

The demon Baron continued to shout.

His dark, muscular body exuded a suffocating aura, particularly oppressive for those of lower levels.

His small horns began to grow, a manifestation of his Berserk Baron form.

"Tch."

Andrew clicked his tongue, realizing that he had missed the opportunity to kill the demon, who would now fight with deadly seriousness.

His advantage had vanished.

Once a demon reached a higher rank and became a Baron, a core formed within their body, which could not be moved anywhere except the heart.

Hence, Andrew directed his attack at the left side of the demon with all his might, but the demon proved to be far stronger than he had anticipated.

Even when caught off guard, the demon, being a Baron, instinctively evaded the danger.

Andrew braced himself for the final battle.

"Today, I believe I will finally meet my family."

Andrew declared, assuming an offensive stance, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.

"But before that… allow me to take you with me… into the afterlife!"

Andrew charged forward.

Amidst the chaos, a horse raced at full speed.

"Fuck!! Faster, please!"

Slap-

"Kii-hihihih!"

The horse neighed, increasing its pace once more.

"Please, Andrew! Hold on a little longer! I'm coming!"

A young boy with blue hair, blue eyes, fair skin, a muscular build, and a height of approximately 6 feet 2 inches fervently prayed for the safety of his villagers as he rode the horse.

Kevin, still bleeding from a previous injury, paid no heed to his own condition.

At this moment, reaching the town and aiding the defenders was of utmost importance.

Time passed, and Kevin caught sight of the town's entrance. He urged the horse onward.

Upon noticing the lifeless bodies of his fellow villagers, his heart sank.

Children, elders, women—corpses littered the surroundings.

The heads of the children who had bid him farewell on his journey were brutally severed from their bodies, their faces etched with terror.

Kevin could not bear witness to this gruesome and heart-wrenching sight.

"Brghwaaa."

He vomited...

The putrid stench of decaying flesh, blood, and lifeless bodies permeated the air, evoking a profound sense of sorrow within Kevin.

"Why...?" he uttered, gazing at the sky.

His cherished family, fellow villagers, and his dearest friend— they were all...

"Wait..."

Kevin's countenance grew somber.

Amidst the heaps of corpses, the bodies of his family and Andrew were conspicuously absent.

Panic gripped him, and he sprinted across the field.

It was then that he heard something.

Splurt-

"Ugh!"

Kevin turned his head, witnessing a horrifying scene unfolding before his eyes.

"I warned you, feeble human. It is futile," proclaimed a black, muscular figure with imposing horns, clutching a man by the neck.

"Now, I must settle the debt for my lost hand."

The figure declared, forcefully yanking the human's right hand.

The sheer power exerted resulted in the limb being torn from its socket.

"UGH!!"

The human cried out in agony.

"No matter how grievously injured you may be, once I make you my servant, your limbs will regenerate~"

With sadistic glee, the demonic figure simultaneously tore off the human's left arm and right leg.

"HAHAHAHA~ Your resistance is commendable~ I shall make you my pet!"

The demonic entity erupted into laughter.

...

Kevin, witnessing this gruesome spectacle, felt his bladder give way in fear.

"A-Andrew..."

He mumbled, recognizing the human whose indomitable spirit prevented him from succumbing to the demon's torment.

Andrew teetered on the precipice between life and death.

Kevin snapped out of his stupor, realizing that it was not the time for cowardice.

His hand instinctively reached for his waist, only to realize...

"Shit."

He had forgotten his sword in the carriage.
