Tenji's eyes widened in surprise as he looked over to Maiyu and saw her smiling and looking at him. He then turned back to look at the rest of the group.
Tenji's eyes widened again as he saw all the familiar faces gathered around the table. His parents, Haru and Izumi, his sister Aki, and some of Maiyu's closest friends Kenzie and Kian were all there, grinning at him with a banner reading 'Happy Birthday, Tenji!'
