Asahi had a frown as he stared at Rumi and Tenji, trying his best to decode the suspicious situation he caught them in.
Recalling the moment he had a brief discussion with Tenji about his feelings for Rumi.
Feeling betrayed was an understatement, in this case, one he couldn't hide with his brows twitching.
'Now isn't the time to play the jealous brat, kiddo!' Tenji internally facepalmed, thinking of all which could be going on in the mind of Asahi.
Folding his arms, Tenji calmly responded. "It has been a bit of a long day, how have you been?"
Stunned by his reaction to his earlier accusations, Asahi was left speechless as he stood awkwardly, unable to counter with any witty response.
"I feel alive." He flatly responded.
"It's best if you don't let your jealousy blind your judgment." Tenji pointed out.
Easing on his words, Asahi tried to avoid staring in the direction of a silent Rumi.
"I had gone with your advice, turns out I make it a lot faster here than our mode of transportation." Asahi reported, whistling.
"You just wasted your chance to sneak out once with the gem until it regained its energy." Tenji scolded.
"At least excellent work is done by ignoring others," Rumi muttered under her breath.
Feeling the tension increasing, Tenji got to his feet. "How about we get to my study once more? It's time to give a bit of a test drive to your improvements."
"Why do we get to be in that same place?" Asahi whined.
Walking ahead of them, he stopped and glared in Rumi's direction, there was no way he could let her spill and complicate things even further.
Taking in what he had said, she let out a sigh, but not while she stole glances at the anthuriom.
Secretly creating a miniature portal, she shoved her hand in to pluck a few petals, shoving them in into her pocket.

Re-creating what he had done with his room, he smiled in satisfaction knowing fully well that he couldn't be disturbed by Aki.
'What did father do?!' He looked around in horror at the numerous shelves present with books that had belonged to his grandfather's research gone.
Composing himself, and temporarily giving up on his search until the two students were done, he smiled and looked at the two.
Rumi scoffed and looked to her right while Asahi looked to his left.
"I would need you two paired against one another."
Asahi took up the challenge, willing to use any method he could to vent his frustration.
"Professor Tenji, don't you think this is a little unfair?" Rumi questioned, sizing Asahi's capability.
"Hey! Take that back!" Asahi protested, raising a fist in front of him, threatening not to hold back.
"What are you going to do, take over my mind?" She countered with a blow on her nails and a roll of her eyes.
Ignoring their banter, he slowly materialized all the necessary atmosphere for their duel.
If he needed to test out their true capabilities and improvements, he would prepare a catch.
"What do you say about the winner getting to request something within my knowledge of ability to fulfill?"
"Anything?" Rumi questioned.
The moment he spotted her smirk, he felt uneasy and almost certain he could tell who the winner would be.
"If it's within my current comfort zone, sure I would try to fulfill my end of the bargain."
"I would take your word for it, professor," Rumi whooped in joy, clenching her fists as she glared daggers at her best friend. "Let's settle this, and I promise not to send you back there."
Grinning from ear to ear, Rumi's eyes glowed as she opened a portal.
Trying his best to manipulate her mana, Asahi ducked the moment he saw a kick aimed at his head.
"How do you see a dickhead holding grudges?" Rumi specifically questioned with a glare at him.
Getting to his feet once more, he felt a punch to his face, sending him flying and knocking down 5 shelves.
"Oof!" Tenji grimaced at the pain that would be inflicted on Asahi now and in the future, and the damages caused to the shelves.
Having confidence in his restoring spell, he tried to maintain his calmness as they dueled.
"I guess it's still a mystery on a whole new level for your slow wit!" She spat, looming over him.
"Fuck it! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Asahi countered with equal vigor, cutting all subtle approaches.
Tenji's attention switched between the two, caught in the middle of the hidden message he only knew too well that had caused a drift between them.
"I should be asking the same question?" Rumi snapped.
"That's freaking cheating! You had pretended as though you wanted to use your portal." Asahi accused with his finger pointed at her, as he flung a broken piece of wood in her direction.
Rumi stepped to the left, "says the one who can't even control his abilities or emotions–yet!"
Taking deep breaths, Asahi picked on the little mana essence he could get in Rumi, using this to his advantage, he pulled on her legs.
"Whoa!" Rumi felt all things around her play out in slow motion as she crashed onto the floor with a loud thud.
Three of the buttons from her blue top popped out, making her turn around to hide the slight pleasure she had felt while trying her best to adjust it with the little spell she had learnt.
'What the hell is wrong with me?' She had a flash of confusion wash over her.
Pulling on her collar, she pushed on the floor and had a smirk.
'I refuse to be defeated, that chance is mine for the taking!' She thought with fiery determination.
"How far can we go with this, Professor Tenji?" Rumi looked to the side, her hair falling over her face as she laughed hysterically.
