"Yuki-kun!"
"Yuki-kun!!"
It was a vague and faint voice, which ringed and echoed through the empty darkness surrounding Yuki. The feeling was uneasy. It was an out-of-body experience. He stood in the center of nothing but dead cold void. It was as if Yuki was levitating yet falling down at the same time. Unable to move anywhere, this felt suffocating.
"Look at here! Look towards me! Yuki-kun!"
"Shiina?" Yuki said back to the indefinite voice.
"Where are you, Shiina?"
Suddenly, the empty world of darkness felt like growing into something more different as the black was wiped. Yuki now stood on a road in the middle of an unknown city.
The city was asleep, unguarded. A frantic atmosphere covered the night. It was unsettling darkness which one could feel through their skin. Inaudible and strange chattering sounds were repeated into his sounddrums as the mumbling gave off an eerie vibe. Everything sounded muffled as if Yuki's ears had been filled complete with blood.
The air was so thin that it felt like dying from asphyxia, the glasses of buildings reflected unnoticeable creepy shadows which waved greetings to death.
The same frail voice got louder, as it screeched into his ears.
"Yuk-k-ki—"
His attention focused towards the middle of the road, as he looked down on the ground. A body which looked like a bloody pool crawled on the rough surface, towards Yuki. Her hair were covering half the face, her eyes internally bleeding as the iris colored crimson.
The girl had a twisted arm which only led her with no choice but to crawl towards Yuki with the support of two legs and one useless arm, the other one scratched its nails into the ground as they broke with every grab.
"S-Sav… Save me… P-Please!"
She coughed a well out of her mouth, full of blood as she wriggled more towards the cold boy, her own body started to temper down. The helpless girl left blood as a trail behind while she moved forward.
"Shiina?" Yuki stared deeply towards the hopeless figure as he questioned.
"Yuki…" She pathetically lifted her arm towards Yuki, the fingers were sprayed with injuries and deep cuts, the nails were scattered.
Yuki took no time to rethink his thoughts, as he instantly started to walk. Soon run towards Shiina, raising his hand to grab Shiina's as soon as possible.
'How'd she end up like this? Is she going to die?' Yuki thought.
'Somehow, when she's on the brink of death…'
'I still, don't feel worr-'
A speeding car came right through the same road, as it was only a matter of two seconds till Yuki's hand came in contact with Shiina's, the girl was crushed. Blood splattered all over Yuki's face and into his eyes, The only sound he could hear the loudest among the silent city was the painful loud screeching of Shiina in anguish and suffering, as her voice soon tore mor—
There was a sudden start of blood which rained down all over the city, bathing everything with red, the bloody rain got louder, and louder, and louder.
Yuki's eyes instantly opened, as he woke up to the patter of rain in his balcony.
He lied in his comfortable bed, and his blanket was over him.
The television played as the news reporter mumbled over his mic, chattering his dialogues behind the screen. At least, to our dizzy Yuki, it felt like chattering. The voices were the only sound which filled Yuki's lonely and dark room into a busy atmosphere.
The apartment was kept emptier, yet the remaining things were still kept in a mess. Yuki looked around himself to notice his cup noodles out cold, which were never eaten as he fell asleep instead. The steaming hot ramen few hours ago was the only warmth Yuki could feel within some days, as he never felt any from ordinary people.
'So it was a nightmare.' Yuki thought, 'Even though it was disturbing enough to make someone jump out of their bed… I did not even flinch an inch, nor was I shocked, startled or scared.'
"When Shiina dies, will I really not feel anything?"
"She is nothing to me, anyway."
The TV buzzed a sound of changing a program, as the lights flickered and switched to another reporting man.
"The following program has been interuppted in order to transfer an important news report regarding the weather conditions."
"Due to—"
'I couldn't hear what it said… I'm too dizzy.'
"There will be rain today."
"Rain in the month of February? That sounds very unusual."
Yuki got up and out of his bed as he neatly made it. Then, he looked around in his apartment in search of food. Yuki realized he was lacking food. After readying himself up, he grabbed his shopping bag and umbrella just in case, and departure to the convenience store. The same one in which Shiina is working her overtime in.
