Little Rina is sitting by the window angry since morning. He didn't take a single bite of rice all day. He stares at the cloudy sky with bored eyes. This time, Eid may have to be spent in old clothes. Tomorrow is Eid, but even though morning has passed and night has passed, father has not brought new clothes yet. Sumaiya from the next house has bought new clothes and shoes, but how long has it been since Rina changed the same pair of clothes. Sometimes Rina thinks, "Maybe my luck is bad. That's why I was born in such a father's house. All my friends wear new clothes every Eid, only my luck is bad."
Around 12 o'clock in the night, the rickshaw came and stopped at the door of the house. Rina's mother Amena Begum has been sitting since that evening waiting for her husband Jabbar Mia to arrive. At the sound of the rickshaw both Rina and Rina's mother rushed to the door. A small smile appeared on Rina's lips. Jabbar Mia has also brought new clothes for Reena and Reena's mother along with Eid bazaar. Rina ran and took the Eid dress from her father. He ran to his room to look at the clothes. Jabbar Mia laughed a little seeing her daughter like that.
Jabbar Mia hastily sat down to eat after washing her hands and face. Driving the rickshaw all day now his body is getting paralyzed. I have to go out early again tomorrow, the money is more available on Eid day. Amena Begum has been asking one question for a long time and is unable to do it. After a moment's hesitation, she asked,
"Haven't you bought anything for yourself?" Jabbar Mia smiled and said,
"What else should I buy for my me? I am old enough now, Your's Eid is my Eid! I couldn't give you anything even for the last Eid!"
Amena Begum sighed and said, "You can't stand because of the pain in your feet. Take a pair of new shoes!"
Jabbar Mia looks at the door without responding to Amena's words. Rina is coming back with her clothes. Jabbar Mia is able to guess what happened after saw Rina. But asked with trying to smile a little.
"What happened Rina?" Rina replied with twinkling eyes.
"What kind of clothes have you brought father? Sumaiya from next door is buying beautiful clothes. Sumaiya's father has also bought her new shoes. And have you brought these for me?"
Poor Jabbar's face turned pale. He couldn't manage more than that with torn shoes, severe pain in his feet, driving a rickshaw all day. That's all he was capable of. But who will understand this little girl of his. Amena Begum tried to explain her daughter.
"What's wrong mom? The dress is beautiful. You'll look like a fairy!"
Rina was a little angry with her trembling eyes and left the clothes next to Jabbar and said, "You guys wear this clothes." He wiped his eyes and went to his room. Jabba watched Rina leave in helpless silence. A little regret has come to his eyes. Jabbar remembers his father. Jabbar was Rina's age at that time. He remember how he took the whole house on his head because his father didn't buy clothes on one Eid. That day his father said helplessly, "I haven't money son!" After becoming a father himself, Jabbar understands the value of his father. Two drops of salty water accumulated in the corners of his eyes rolled down and fell into the food. Amena Begum looks at Jabbar speechless. Jabbar is such a strong man, she has hardly seen tears in Jabbar's eyes since marriage. Jabbar began to wipe his eyes with a corner of his torn cloth. After a while, Silently said Jabber, "Forgive me, father! Forgive me!"
