Chapter 18 - CH 17: Power Hunting in the Insomniac Universe

"Oh, alright then. Hmm, hey, if you want, I could help you with what you're doing." Blasphemy suggested. Peter thought about it before turning to Felicia "Felicia, what do you think? Extra help would definitely help out a lot."

Felicia thought about it as well, but shook her head "Sorry, Spidey. You may trust him, but I can't trust someone who I've just met with such an important matter. No offense, younger Peter."

"None taken." He smiled "I understand. I wouldn't trust someone who just popped out of nowhere and said he's an alternative version of me from another universe."

Peter raised an eyebrow "You wouldn't?"

Blasphemy grinned "Instant best friends. He's either telling the truth, or has one hell of a humour."

"Eey!" Peter laughed and dabbed him up "Alright, look. This situation is really, and I mean REALLY really serious, alright? So I can't hang out with you right now. So why don't you go and hang out with Miles, and we can talk later, alright? I'm sure he'll be thrilled to meet another Spider-Man."

"Hmm, sure, why not? I don't know his address though."

After Peter told him his address, after stepping away from Felicia, Blasphemy was ready to go. But he turned to Peter just before swinging away "Oh, I might not and bother him in the middle of the night though. There's a chance that I'll just swing around and stop a few crimes."

"However you're comfortable, pal. And if you run into any problems, just call that number I gave you."

"Sure thing. Oh, and one more thing. My time here is limited, so if your business takes too long and you can't find me afterwards, don't worry, I'll just be back in my own universe."

"Hahahaha, I hope I can finish in time so we can chat before you go though. But sure. Make yourself comfortable in our universe."

With a salute, he shot a web and swung away 'Oh, I will. But I gotta hurry. When I wished for this power, I wished that time would pass normally. I have until morning to go back, so I better finish quickly so Aunt May and Gwen won't worry. Now, where to first? Hmm...'

After thinking about it, he chose his first destination 'First stop, FEAST. I gotta try and find the spider first. Then I'll find Miles. Then I'll pay a quick little visit to the Raft to... feast, you could say, hahahaha. But first things first, this thing first.'

He looked at the tiny drop of blood sealed tightly in the tip of the tendril that suddenly turned visible 'Thanks a lot, Peter. You're the man.'

As he absorbed it, a familiar burst of energy rang through his body. Through every vein, every cell, every atom of his being. He couldn't help but grit his grinning teeth and tighten his fists, the claws that he unconsciously unleashed digging into his palms as he barely managed to hang onto his web. He couldn't lie, it was an extremely addictive feeling.

But the fact that he copied his intelligence again, along with his skills, did confuse him. Didn't make him complain though. He even learned Mandarin instantly, much to his amusement. With a hard swing, he leapt onto a building before gathering all his power.

[Superhuman Speed: 200 mph (321 km/h) -> 2,100 mph (3,380 km/h)]

His toothy, malicious grin stretched from one ear to another, the whites of his eyes behind the mask turned pitch black as he felt his body lit up in pure fucking power. With just a small bit of pressure, the rooftop under his toes caved in, before nearly breaking as he leapt away. Body barely a blur as he chose to treat every second of the night like a treasure. After all, he couldn't waste time when it came to getting more, more and more power.

It didn't take long before he arrived at FEAST. The place was already closed, but it wasn't like he was planning to take the door anyway. As he found a slightly open window, he smirked and turned invisible. He concentrated before his body began to deform, transforming into its original slimy state before he turned into tendrils and passed through the small gap.

Reaching the main hall, he smiled at the sight of homeless people sleeping peacefully in their beds. 'I always loved this place in the game. Such a kind thing to do, to give them a place to peacefully live in. It's why I was genuinely mad when Martin Li threw it all away. I could understand him though, even though I hated his methods. Anyway, forget that. I have better things to do.'

He activated his Spider-Sense, and immediately grew amazed. He had completely forgotten that on top of new powers, his already existing powers had grown as well. Most noticeably, his Spider-Sense.

While active, the Spider-Sense would slow down the world around him. Not literally. It would actually just heighten his perception to the point where it seemed like that. And now, the world went even slower than before. He loved it.

Spider-Sense was a cheat ability, and having it empowered even more was actually the best benefit. It was his omnipresent danger alarm, after all. Peter became such a powerful fighter even without knowing any martial arts just because of this power.

After he learned martial arts though, his own special martial arts called the Way of the Spider which utilized the Spider-Sense to the max at that? He became a force to be reckoned with.

But something felt amiss. He didn't expect his Spider-Sense to get empowered that much, but the improvement was still less than what he expected.

'Hmm... let me test something.' He deactivated his Symbiote and Spider-Man powers, except the invisibility, only keeping the new powers active. And as he activated his Spider-Sense, his eyes widened 'This new Spider-Sense is weaker than my original one! And by a lot, at that!'

His field of vision had gone darker again, but this time, time had barely slowed down. His perception had grown faster, his brain processed his vision faster, but not as fast as his original Spider-Sense.

'Hmm, what's going on? Wait, could it be that although all super spiders give the same powers, each one gives an improved version of a specific power? Or at least the ones that don't give a new power?

Wait, that actually makes sense! It happened with one of the spider chicks! What was her name... Silk! Right, her name was Silk. She was bit by the same spider as Peter, but because the spider was dying, it bit her harder than him. Giving her less strength than Peter, but more speed. But more importantly, a stronger version of the Spider-Sense!

So the spider that bit Peter and Silk has a special Spider-Sense and Super Spider 1 has a special webbing. And I wonder just what surprises the other super spiders have.' Thinking about them, he couldn't help but smile 'I'll find out soon enough.'

Peter reactivated all of his powers and activated his Spider-Sense again. Instantly feeling relieved at the way it returned to its full force. He traveled on the walls and ceiling, searching for any clues.

Luckily for him, his newly improved Spider-Sense found him one pretty quickly. As he looked around, he noticed another thing about his Spider-Sense. The trail that he found on the ground was glowing yellow.

'...Hah, I'm falling more and more in love with the Spider-Sense. Please, please, please let it be like the one in Amazing Spider-Man games! Not only could you see them through walls, you could even see how much their vision covered! I don't think it can do that now, but maybe after a few more super spider venoms.'

Hanging by a tendril, he descended to the ground, where he followed the trail the spider had left behind. As he avoided the few awake tenants, he finally reached the end of the trail. He couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, even though he didn't even need oxygen.

Luckily for him, it was just thrown under the cabinet 'Thank god Miles didn't flush this thing down the drain. I was praying that I wouldn't need to go down to the sewers. Although I'll probably be forced to do so one day, seeing as I'm Spider-Man and all.'

As he looked at the corpse of the super spider, all thoughts left his brain, replaced by hunger. Pure hunger for more power. He didn't even hesitate before covering the spider in his biomass and instantly devouring it. And once again, that delicious, addictive feeling of power running through his every cell came back to him. Making him growl and grin unconsciously.

"W-what was that? Is somebody there?" Unfortunately for him, the feeling of bliss was short-lived. He couldn't help but grit his teeth at being interrupted. Frustrated to the point he considered just eating the homeless man. But he held himself back and simply snuck out of the building quietly.

Taking a human form again, his smirk returned 'Next stop, Miles Morales.' And started leaping from building to building again, going even faster than before.

[Superhuman Speed: 2,100 mph (3,380 km/h) -> 2,300 mph (3,701 km/h)]

And a while later, he was at the address Peter gave him. He stuck to the wall, still invisible as he crawled around the building to find an opening inside. Unfortunately, his Spider-Sense didn't follow the game mechanics, so he couldn't see where Miles' was through the walls.

He could only go inside and find him himself. Fortunately, however, his Spider-Sense could lead to an opening. Peter smiled as he saw an open window 'Remind me to never leave my windows open. Don't want anybody like me breaking in, hahahaha.'

But as he peeked in to see if the coast was clear, he froze '...Oh, my god. Or my Knull, in this case...' Inside was Rio Morales, Miles' mother. A very hot Afro-Puerto Rican lady. A very naked one, at the moment, except her underwear.

"Oops, got your moral compass! Hehehehehe!" He heard something speak in the back of his mind, but he couldn't care less. Not when her MILF tits and fat ass jiggled as she grabbed her clothes. And when she bent over to take her panties off too? Peter didn't even notice the tendril that got a hold of his phone and started taking pictures.

He only noticed when she was all dressed up. He took a double take before snatching his phone from his tendril and glaring at it "Dude, that's creepy! I accidentally saw her, that's one thing. But taking pictures? Come on."

The tendril stared at him for a moment, as if deadpanning, before he opened the gallery, selecting the images it had taken, and pointing at the delete option. Little shit was daring him to do it.

Peter was speechless as he glared at the tendril. They had a stare off, before he closed his phone and stored it in his biomass "...What's done is done, let's not think much about it..."

The tendril swayed a bit, as if scoffing and saying "Yeah, that's what I thought." Before going back. Peter could only tighten his lips before turning liquid and going inside to find Miles. The fact that he could see Miles' naked mom, only covered by a towel was not his fault. Just a happy little incident.
