With Guion unable to resist the pull, Julius toyed with him, beating him relentlessly and preventing him from touching the bones. Despite his hopeless situation, Guion continued to fight back, though he was completely dominated. Savouring his role as the oppressor, Julius made the mistake of grabbing Guion by the tail to stop him from entering the bone.
Guion, using his ability to weaponize his body, released thorny bones from the spot Julius was holding, tearing his hand apart and freeing himself in the process. He dove into the bone and then emerged right in front of Julius, delivering a devastating punch to his face that sent him rolling across the ground.
Realizing that being on the ground put him at even greater risk, Julius knew he had only one option left absolute destruction. Determined to win, he unleashed a catastrophic amount of his cataclysmic wind, screaming at the top of his lungs. The wind formed an immense explosion, growing rapidly and obliterating everything in its path, including the bone towers.
As the explosion expanded, Guion, fearing for Erick's safety in the White House, rushed to shield him. He positioned himself between the blast and the mansion, using his indestructible skull to withstand the force. The explosion was so powerful that it ripped off his front limbs, turning them to dust, yet Guion continued to resist, even as his right foot disintegrated and his skull began to crack. Despite the odds, he protected the part of the White House where Erick was sheltered, sacrificing himself to save his brother.
When the explosion finally subsided, the city lay in ruins, wiped clean of everything that once stood there, except for a small portion of the White House and Guion's mangled body lying before it. Julius, now in the air, spotted Fury lying motionless in the distance with Erick kneeling beside her. His fury ignited, and he roared, "You! I'm going to turn you to dust!" He flew down, charging at Erick with murderous intent, his right hand generating a blast of destruction aimed solely at him.
As the blast neared the remnants of the White House, Guion, despite his horrific injuries, rose again, standing on his last remaining limb. Though weakened, he positioned himself to shield Erick once more, determined to protect his brother even in his dying breath.
Erick managed to defend that portion of the White House, saving Erick's life, but at the cost of his own. When Erick stood up to take a look, he saw Julius, the devil, standing in a desert of crushed bones, with Guion's unbreakable skull at his feet. Guion's body had evaporated when shielding Erick, there was no trace of him left but the skull on the ground. He had been obliterated.
"You monster!" Erick yelled, attacking Julius with a knife, but Julius stopped him like a mere child, grabbing his wrist and breaking his arm. Erick screamed in pain, dropping the knife and falling to his knees.
He stared at Guion's skull with such intense emotion that words failed him, but his eyes said it all.
"Every time you have to take a life, remember the pain you felt when losing something," Julius said, his voice unexpectedly calm. "Don't tell yourself you don't have a choice.
As someone to whom the unforgivable has been done, I'm sure you can imagine a million other ways this could have ended differently. I've seen this time and time again, and I understand sadness all too well. I'm sorry for your loss."
With that, Julius turned and walked away slowly, seemingly relieved, confident that there were no more threats. But as he walked, a monstrous sound echoed through the air, stopping him in his tracks.
The real voice of the Blind One spoke, its tone resonating with a deep, ancient authority. "Brag all you want, boy, but you have known no pain. I am the father of all emotion, and I do not acknowledge your need for more destruction. Your hatred must be stopped."
Julius turned, his heart gripped by an unfamiliar fear as he realized the voice was coming from the dead skull of Guion. He couldn't fathom whether Guion was immortal or even human at all.
His ability to cling to life was beyond comprehension. The moment Julius witnessed this, he quickly left the ground, hovering a few meters above to witness first hand the powers of a god, to see for himself why Guion had been made king despite being deprived of sight.
The ground began to tremble, and the crushed bones started to rise, creating a massive tornado that engulfed the entire city. It was so tall that it could be seen across America, and so powerful that the winds it generated disturbed weather patterns nationwide.
Inside the tornado, the air was pitch black, yet Julius's eyes, designed for such conditions, saw only horror the likes of which he wished he had never encountered. He witnessed the most terrifying sight in the history of Overwhelm, yet also the most awe-inspiring. Guion's full body began to emerge from the skull, starting with his arms, followed by his legs and tail, which squeezed out last.
As soon as the first arm appeared, Julius activated his telekinetic wind shield, unable to shake the fear of death at Guion's hands. When Guion's tail finally came out, the presence of the one every Overwhelm holder was sworn to obey began to fully manifest, growing stronger until the markings on Guion's body began to glow.
Julius realized that he stood no chance against whatever Guion had become something no longer of their world.
Desperate, Julius hurled another one of his telekinetic wind balls at Guion, but Guion didn't even bother to move. The ball hit him head-on and didn't even leave a scratch. Julius couldn't believe his eyes.
He knew that he was going to die soon, so he decided to go down fighting, even though he was clearly no match for Guion. He wasn't ready to abandon their cause, which meant Guion had to kill him before his power ran out. That level of strength was absolute, yet fleeting and extremely draining.
"In the name of love, you will die here," Guion declared, lowering himself to all fours, glaring at Julius like a rabid dog waiting to deliver a fatal bite. But Guion wasn't waiting for a chance, he was going to create one.
Seeing Guion's stance, Julius flew up at top speed, hoping to get as high as possible. With Guion's transport medium destroyed, the sky was the safest place for him. But even as he ascended, Guion came from above, grabbing him by the neck and dragging him back down to the ground. When they crashed, Julius choked on his own blood.
"Look at that," Guion sneered. "I didn't know you could bleed this way." He continued to squeeze Julius's neck, lifting him slowly as he stood, until Julius's feet were off the ground. Julius watched his life flash before his eyes, growing weaker and weaker.
He couldn't fight back or break free; Guion's grip was too strong. As Julius's breathing became erratic, Guion's human side began to regain control, battling the overwhelming power of the Blind One until he assumed full command.
The moment Guion freed himself from the demon's might, the bone particles returned to normal, and the tornado ceased. Despite his fury toward Julius, killing him didn't sit right with Guion; it was against his nature.
Even as the Blind One, he struggled to decide whether to spare Julius's life or end it right there. His hand trembled, his teeth clenched, trying to muster the courage to do it but he couldn't. Deep down, though he disagreed with Julius's ideals, he understood his pain. So, Guion drained whatever was left of the Blind One within him and began to change back.
