Chapter 61 - No Title

After finishing the contact, Peter put the radio to its place and glanced around his men. He hold his head with one hand and said, "Listen up, guys. We gotta do something."

Three minutes later, eight men came out of the house. They were all wearing necklaces on their necks. Although there were no visible monsters around 200 meters, they didn't want to meet some accidents. Four started to cleared up the field while the other four went around to refill the fuel of the lamps. When they finished it, they started to rearrange the traps. Brian also thought of his mistakes. So, after a short discussion with Peter, the plan changed to target the big guys.

Just after they rearranged the explosives, Tina came out with a bucket. It was full of garlic water and diesel. Tina thought of it on a whim. She read about this on a book although she was not sure of it could help them or not. She wanted to try it out because it would do no bad result to them.

So, Peter, Ronald, Luke and Allen started to pour some of these liquids around the house. After finishing the task, they returned into the house. It was not that they didn't want to help the guys handling the corpses. Because they were going to help the Eagles. They knew the dangers but they still wanted to try it. Peter decided to go with only four people including him. According to the plan, they would take a truck and attack the monsters which were besieging the survivors in Tosta street. They would run after solving the monsters from the back. The whole plan was just to harass the monsters and break the enemy formation.

Fortunately, all the monsters in the neighborhood died neatly in besieging the Julia's house. So, they were able to safely operate according to their plans. The former four people were exchanged with another four people already when the squad of Peter left with the truck. The squad was composed of Peter, Ronald, Luke and Allen. Tina and other watched the truck leaving them from the second floor. Tina could not understand why Peter chose to do that. She felt that they were completely being able to defend the monsters in Julia's house. As for SWAT and other survivors, she felt that they shouldn't need help from a small team like them at all. After all, she knew that SWAT was composed of at least 20 well trained people and they might have many armed survivors. Because SWAT were still hardly resisting the monsters, and they killed the monsters under the artifact's protection.

Tina could only watch the truck which was disappearing from her vision and prayed for her beloved.

Luke drove the car according to the path they searched along during the previous night. Thanks to that, he was quite familiar with the roads. They took the town's outermost roads and made a big detour. The streets were peaceful and clear and they only met several monsters on the way.

As soon as their truck got to the Tosta street, they saw the monsters besieging the big mansion. They were surprised by the scale of the battle. Several hundreds monsters were still attacking the big mansion in wave after wave. The survivors were also no joke. Nearly three hundreds survivors all had rifles in their hands and they were the strongest defenders. Most of them were young adults and middle aged men and women. After a day of struggle, they all became veterans. They understood how to efficiently kill the monsters.

After killing the lone wolf which rushed towards the family truck, Peter opened the radio and said, "Ermines to Eagles, Ermines to Eagles. Do you hear me? Standby. Over."

Chester who was planning the defensive strategy picked up the radio on the table and hurriedly said, "This is Eagle-1. I can hear you. Over."

Peter gestured Allen to prepare the things. He and Allen were on the truck bed while Luke was driving and Ronald was beside him. To make things convenient, they removed the windshield before they left the house. There were four electric lamps tied on the four corners of the truck impressively. Otherwise, they might be already dead if they met gray mists on the way.

"Eagle-1, we are watching the battle at the end of the Tosta street. We request for permission to engage. Over."

Chester hurriedly opened the windows and looked around with the thermal vision goggles. Soon, he found the four. Chester spoke to the radio, "Ermines, I want you to attack the group of humanoid monsters at 11 o'clock near the burning tree. Do your best and retreat immediately. Over."
