She walked down the stairs hand in hand with Michael who didn't seem to mind all the attention they're getting from the pack. It was more than obvious that a guy like Michael could've gotten his wish even before the words had left his mouth. The gaped jaws of gorgeous she-wolves didn't go unnoticed by Evelyn's narrowed gaze. Her wolf was going crazy with all the attention; neither of them were used to this.
Michael had seemed to calm down and his wolf was kept in check. They slid down the stairs acting like royalty though their status wasn't any less. They're the alpha and luna, the king and queen of the Moonstone pack.
"What is all of this?" Evelyn asked him through a mind-link shockingly dazed at her own words.
"Wait and see." He whispered back in an excited tone though his face held the same dead look it always had around the pack members.
Keeping the hopping wolf inside her in somewhat control, Evelyn walked and tried not to trip or rush to the huge dinning table where many pack members stood their ground, greeting their king and queen.
Evelyn's heart was thumping loud in her chest, cautioning her about the prying eyes on her mate and the glaring flying in the air towards her direction. She held her head up high and straightened her back as she walked, making sure to match her mate's daunting expression. The adrenaline rushing in her veins had summoned her strength and she let her aura spread in the hall, making them all bow in respect at her mere sight.
Michael took her near the head of the rectangular table where two giant akin side chairs with royal blue cushions were placed. He himself took a seat after gently helping her perch beside him. All the members took their seats after the alpha and luna. The beta couple were on the alpha's side and the gamma couple were on the luna's side of the table.
There was a momentary silence before all eyes were on Evelyn, waiting on her for something suspicious.
"They're waiting." Michael privately mind-linked her.
"For what?" Evelyn asked dazed.
"Take the first bite Eve." As soon as the mind-link ended Evelyn stared down at her plate, trying to shun the sweetness of her name in his tone.
Her plate had some waffles and some other modern stuff his father used to call 'junk food'. William was always strict with the meal they took thrice every day. Even after eating so many times with Jasmine in a restaurant, she still couldn't figure out what they were. So she just decided to take a bite.
'Hope they don't poison me.' She thought. She was doubtful but she trusted him with all she had to keep her safe.
She dipped the tip of her fork into the weird crusty and good smelling shaped food and brought it up to her mouth. She made sure to wrap her tongue around the piece, savouring that taste more than anything else.
It was after her first piece that every one of them had dipped into their breakfast without any delay. She knew that this was a part of a ritual after being mated. A luna was meant to be the queen cherished by not solely her mate but every single one of the pack members. So they all proved their submission to her in several ways, one in which they used to take a grain or bread only after the luna's supper.
It came as an advantage to her as they all hungrily attacked their food like their most feral enemy and no one seemed to have heard her moaning quietly at the sweet and chocolate taste of the . . . she didn't know the dish yet.
Although much to her disappointment like recently someone had heard her silent appeal too well. Michael lowly sniggered beside her, low enough to merely trap her attention.
"Why do I feel like you like this pastry more than my mouth?" He privately mind-linked her still chuckling amidst all that muttering.
"A pastry? Is that what its called?" She asked curious.
He looked at her completely taken by her not so expected words. How could she not know what a pastry was? He must've been craving to say that out loud but kept himself shut, unable to crush her fragile feelings. He sighed instead and decided not to linger on that topic.
"You didn't answer." Evelyn struggled to find what he'd inquired and than his question out of the blue popped up in her head bringing a mischevious smile along with it home.
"Maybe it's just sweeter." A smirk danced on her lips as she took another bite of the pastry haughtily, seducing his wolf's so-called temper.
Evelyn knew she'd pushed his limits when an instant growl rumbled through his chest, confirming that she'd thrust him over the edge. She quickly gazed up in his eyes which were now glowing lethal and were even a bit darkened with his struggle to fight his wolf's temptation.

It was cold out here and relaxing and soothing too. The garden and its seeming everlasting magnificent beauty with the varying and captivating and sweet smelling roses and daffodils had caught a beautiful slot in Evelyn's heart.
When Michael had suggested going out for a walk, she didn't believe him to be true or bring her at this divine heaven touched garden. It was utterly out of expectations. It was like a bomb had landed on her when she first took in the heavenly essence of this place.
"It was my mother's." He stated.
Evelyn looked up curiously to peek at him but there was nothing smooth about his face. Even though his tone had sounded rather desperate, his eyes were fixated on a ghostly prey in that garden and his face lacked any human expression.
There was a sudden weight hanging in the air at his statement and the environment had just gotten tensed without even one of them so much as trying. Evelyn could tell something was bothering him and then she remembered of his family . . . being slaughtered in cold-blood at the hands of no other but her one and only father.
Guilt immediately washed over her face and skin, sending chills and worry throughout her stiffened body. She shook her head in denial, not dwelling on the thought of her father killing his.
Her hand swiftly flew in air and perched at his shoulder and his body abruptly reacted to it as he seemed to be coming out of a trance and looked down at her, bewildered.
"What made you bring me here?" She questioned ever so softly, trying to sound as much as sweet as she could to lighten the weight on his shoulders, to for even a second but distract him from the pain he was dwelling on.
Michael looked troubled as he thought over her words, clearly he'd not known the reason of bringing her here. Evelyn witnessed the sight as his brows scrunched up in confusion giving him a cute posture.
"I don't know . . . I guess you reminded me of this place." Evelyn was stunned at his confession. She was so dull and grey looking; how could she remind him of such a heavenly place? Such a divine, captivating garden?
"In what way?" She squealed out thinking he might be offending or teasing her.
He stepped closer and crossed the inches between them, breathing rough as he did and caressed her cheek with his knuckles, smiling warmly at her.
"Every day I come down here before beginning a new chapter in my life, to live in this warmth but today . . ." He stopped taking a good look of her eyes and twirling a strand of her raven hair around his finger.
"This morning I woke up to your beautiful face and that was solely a good enough promise of a bright day to me." A crooked smile slid on his lips as he brought her forehead close to his. "Xavier feels the same way about you." He ended in a husky breath as he drew back to inhale fully, uninterrupted by her desiring and delicious scent.
"Xavier?" Evelyn questioned, peeking up through her long lashes and batting them innocently at him.
'Is he talking about his . . . ?' She thought to herself.
"Yes. Xavier is my other half and right now he's nagging me to introduce him to you." Evelyn giggled at Michael's confession. Now she knew it was his wolf who was the energetic and the most excited one.
Evelyn's eyes perked up to see Michael watching her sternly for moments, listening to her laugh like it was the softest tune out there. It took her a moment but she realized he wasn't the only one watching her.
"What does he say?" Evelyn asked, purely curious now.
"He says that you have the softest laugh. And I agree with him." She blushed and her cheeks rounded and reddened like a tomato with embarrassment. She wasn't a person used to such compliments.
"Well you may tell him that Selene is very fond of his masculine charms." Evelyn said amidst her giggles and a new glow sparked in his eyes as his wolf overwhelmed him and got utterly excited upon hearing his mate's name.
