Chapter 3 - Preparing for the hike

*Four hours later*

" automated system online, passenger status is unconscious, seating to use electric shock to wake up."

"Ouch What the hell man!" Being forced awake I precede to check the surroundings of my pod.

"Well at least we landed in a Field, should make it easier to move around, at least until I get to that bloody forest," sighing I hit the button to open the hatch and it springs open and I'm hit by rays of light, "fucking hell it's even more Beautiful up close."

The grass was the purest green I've ever seen. A small stream goes through the plains and into the forest, right where I need to go.

"Well at least I can follow the water, as long as the stream continues to go that way I should make it straight there," putting on my helmet, I'm wearing all white military Fatigues that have a blue stripe going down from my shoulder to my hand, I have white gloves with metal bracing's on the knuckles. I also have an armored bit that goes from the top of my shirt, a little bit around my head giving my head some extra blast protection in the back and in the front Ballistic protection.

I bend down and fix my shoes, my pants are armored from the knee down, with everything above that being a soft but non-terrible fabric. My shoes also being armored but comfortable at the same time.

And then we have the Actual vest, it is of course white in nature, it's plates are made out of blackened steal, the steal is then wrapped in an updated kevlar. The Kevlar meant to slow the round down before the plate actually stops it. The vest has to big strips that go over my shoulders and connect to the back plate, while there are also two armored pieces that go under my armpits and connect to the back plate as well giving me side protection. And then we have what the Marines like

To call, ass and dick protection, For me I just selected a triangle like part for the front of my dick, and then a square like one for my ass.

And finally we have the actual helmet, same as everything else white, and honestly it could be considered a regular helmet, except that it has full head protection including a face plate, now the face plate is made of blackened steal so you can't see through it, but there are three cameras built into the front of the helmet, with these cameras you also get binoculars basically built into your head, as well as a GPS, Areas surrounding map, threat detection, and other little gadgets.

I quickly check my gear, pulling out a backpack from the pod and checking its contents so after seeing everything in place I then grab my vector. Speaking of the vector, the new and improved version of the vector, this vector has two different rounds it can fire at once, incendiary 9 mm or armor piercing 5.56, now the 9 mm works like what a regular vector would, has a 45 round stick mag the goes into the front, but the 5.56 has a separate mag holder, there's a slot in the stock in which you put the 5.56, so at the flick of a switch, you can change from a close quarters 9 mm to long range 5.56, of course the stock has changed into a full rifle stock with the rifle stock having a bullet ejector in it so it can use the 5.56.

"In terms of ammo storage, ive got six regular mags, and three 5.56 ones, three grenades two flash bangs, two sets of C4 charges, couple smoke grenades, and two pistol mags. Well it could be worse honestly, I've got plenty of MRE's, got water in my canteen tho I don't know if this stream water is drinkable yet, and I got my trusty KBAR haha."

Fallowing the stream a little ways I start to notice some fish in it, "huh, who would have guessed that the first alien contact i'd get would be fish, glowing ones at that." Ignoring the fish I finally make it to the Forest edge.

"Well this is it, ether I make it to The rendezvous in time or they leave without me, and I'm stuck on a alien planet until the actual comes fleet comes through."

Taking I deep breath, I head into the woods hoping I would come out the other side to friendly faces.
