Today was a crazy day for Eris Boreas Greyrat. First she ran out of her class because it was stupid and boring and then she met this annoying guy who was apparently the leader of Ghislaine's party and then she even fought his son and he was really strong! She couldn't even see him before she lost!
"Since I won our fight do I get something?" The old man's kid, Ruby or something, questioned her with a tilt of his head. He was weird. He didn't have any emotion on his face and his face was always really… boring! It was a shame since he was pretty handsome too!
"Get something?" Eris repeated quietly. Why would she give him something for fighting her? Didn't just getting to fight somebody count as a reward? She could even see the old man tilt his head in confusion too so she must be right!
"Mhm. I'm on vacation and you made me spend my time fighting you instead of relaxing. Don't you think you should give me something in response?" Ruby asked her seriously, at least she thought he was serious. She couldn't really tell.
He was on vacation? So what? Why does that matter? Even on a vacation, he should be up for a fight whenever right? At least she would be excited to fight even if she was on a vacation! But if she doesn't give him something he might not fight her again… ARGH! What does she do!?
"Since I won why don't you start studying? To encourage you why don't I come over once a month to check your progress and if I think it's good enough I'll fight you again?" He asked her in a strangely gentle voice, kind of like when her dad is talking to her.
"Studying, but…" She muttered in disorder. Does she study and fight him more or does she not do it and never see him again? If she fights him she gets to fight him but she'd have to study but if she doesn't study she gets to train more but she won't get to fight him again…
"I think it's worth it. If you have a rival you'll grow much faster." Ghislaine said with a small smile on her face. Ghislaine! She almost felt like hugging her teacher in gratitude! So if she has a rival she gets stronger faster and gets to fight more just by studying?
"Sure! You better hold up your end!" She demanded from him with her hand pointed at him and a smirk on her face. She didn't have any people her age that she wanted to talk to so she didn't want to give up the first one she could fight all the time!
"I will. You should worry about if you can pass my tests." He replied with a certain amount of cockiness in his voice. His face didn't change but it was clear that he was challenging her so she would prove him wrong!
"I'll pass your stupid tests and then I'll beat you up!" She responded seriously, her determination burning like a bright fire. She was always a person who accepted any challenge thrown at her before destroying them and this wouldn't be any different!
"I'd like to see you try." He responded with a verbal smirk in his voice. It was interesting how expressive he was despite his face never changing. She couldn't understand how he did it but she didn't care either!
"Look at that Ghislaine! My boy is so grown up! Already flirting!" The old man said with a proud smirk on his face as he rubbed underneath his nose. Blushing up a storm she ran over and tried to vent her frustrations on his face but he somehow dodged just before she could hit him again!
"Don't grow up to be a womanizer like Paul." Ghislaine cautioned her new rival. Nodding his head as seriously as usual he seemed to be slightly disgusted by the idea though she couldn't really understand why. The old man seemed way better than her lame dad!
"Since we're here why don't we do a little group training? It might be fun!" The old man said excitedly while looking at Ghislaine for whatever reason. On the other hand, his son radiated an intense aura of disgust while looking at his dad.
"No, I'm on vacation, and stop that." Her rival said in disgust and annoyance. Suddenly it dawned on her how important his 'vacation' was to him. She couldn't understand why it was important but she could tell it was.
"Come on, you can take a break at home! Come on~!" The old man whined childishly which made even her look at her a little strangely. He was a grown man but he was acting more like a kid. Now that she thought of it, were their ages actually switched at birth?
"No, you can have fun." Her rival denied his father without hesitation, his figure disappearing a moment later. It was similar to when she had first seen him appear out of thin air but obviously the reverse.
"Guess we'll have to manage by ourselves." The old man said with a resigned sigh. While it was a shame that her new rival wouldn't train with her she was still plenty excited to train with Ghislaine and the old man.
"Your son's attitude is just like yours." Ghislaine teased with a faint smirk on her face. It was hard to notice but for somebody who has known her for so long like her, it was fairly obvious and the old man was no exception.
"Nah, I think this is the first time I've seen him take a break in the last year or so. I mean he does spend time with Zenith and everyone else but even then he's usually doing something else." The old man said with a sigh.
So her rival trains even more than she does! It was fairly obvious why he would treasure a break like this then. But while he is taking a break she'll catch up to him in no time at all. Just like he did to her she'll beat him before he can even react!
"Is that so?" Ghislaine replied blandly before looking at Eris from the corner of her eye. "You look oddly excited Eris." How could she not be excited, she already got a taste of it earlier but the old man was strong!
"Of course I am! I get to be trained by you two!" She said with a wide smile on her face. To others, she was difficult to get along with but she believed herself to be perfectly reasonable. All that somebody needed to get close to her was to earn her respect.
"I guess we should do our best huh Ghislaine?" The old man said with a smirk on his face getting a simple nod from the beast woman who taught her. Smiling happily Eris ran over to grab her sword. She was going to be taught by two powerful people, she couldn't help but be excited.
She wouldn't miss this chance.
