Chapter 1 - Chapter One (THE DISCOVERY)

Boma was on her bicycle riding to school, she rides five miles every morning to school. She met mrs Constantin; her music teacher already in the class before her arrival. Time to submit your papers was what she heard before rushing into the class. "Good morning Mrs Constantin," Boma greeted. Mrs Constantin lowered her glasses sarcastically and turned her gaze towards the wall clock. Boma followed Mrs Constantin's geature and it was already a quarter to ten in the morning. "You've practically came late to every one of my classes, may I know what kept you late today, but don't tell me it's the distance you covered to get to school, because it's no longer an excuse, "said Mrs Constantin. Boma was out of excuses." I'm giving you just five minutes to take the test and you'll be submitting exactly the same time as others"Mrs Constantin instructed. Boma rushed to her seat, picked up her papers and did her test. It took Boma just three minutes to get the test done and stood up to submit. Mrs Constantin was surprised to see her attempting to submit. She strolled down to Boma's sit and glanced at her papers, but was so surprised at how fast she completed her work. Mrs Constantin was embarrassed and couldn't wait for the entire class to finish, she ordered them all to stop and collected their scripts. She went out the class and warned Boma never to come late to class again.

Boma was a very lively and jovial student and her classmates also adored her sense of responsibility and intelligence. Some of her friends even referred to her as little genius. Her academic prowess couldn't deterred her from engaging in extra curricular activities as she was equally a cheerleader in the school. Boma went for practice after the class sessions with her cheerleading team. Each of them was showing their individual skills and later held a joint session. Boma was so impressive, even better than their captain; Karen. It's part of the reason Karen has always been jealous of Boma since she joined the cheerleading team. She might even not have made the team without the intervention of the other members. Because left to Karen, she saw her as competition already. There was an upcoming competition and the fear of coming last already holding a grip on the throats of the other members of the team. So, they believed with Boma as the captain, they could actually stood a chance of winning. After the practice of the day, the other members teamed up and insisted that Karen stepped down as captain for Boma. Karen had no choice other than to step down, but threatened to quit the team. Boma left the training ground to the library to study and was heading home on her bicycle, she got to the curved sections of the road when suddenly a truck coming had lost it break. The truck faced Boma head on, but she tried to escape the truck. She realized the impossibility of escaping what's coming, because the truck already took over the road. The truck hit Boma with her bicycle and sent her down the 150m height cliff. The truck driver couldn't wait to rescue her and just drove off. Boma's mom; Lindsey Cross single handedly brought Boma up since she was five months old when her husband abandoned them. She was already home expecting Boma to come home, she called her phone but couldn't be reached. She called two of Bomas friends and they told her they weren't with her. Lindsey became so scared when at 7:00pm she still couldn't see her daughter. She got into her car and drove out to find her. She took the same route as Boma before she accident, but couldn't notice anything. She checked for her in the library and couldn't still find her. She became so scared and tears started rolling down her eyes. She drove down to the police station to report that her daughter was missing, but was told to exercise patience till its twenty four hours before anything could be done. Lindsey went home hoping that her daughter would come home to her, but nothing like that happened. She couldn't sleep thinking maybe the worst had happened to her daughter. Very early the following day, she went straight to her school to know her daughter's whereabout. She was made to know that she went to the library after the cheerleading practice, but told the principal she had already checked for her in the library, but couldn't find her. The principal and the entire school in confusion and imbroglio about Boma's whereabouts. Different conspiracy theories began to surface and some even thought it could be Karen's doing, because of the captaincy tussle on the day. Lindsey couldn't get any assurance her daughter could found with the confusion already holding grip on the school. So, she decided to go back to the police station. Lindsey left the school and was going back, she arrived at the spot of the accident again and suddenly she saw Boma's school bag at one side of the road hung by a thin sheet of the barricade. She put her car to a sudden break at the middle of the road and alighted from the car. She picked up the bag, looked around and down the cliff but saw nothing. She bursted into tears. "Oh my baby, where are you? Please come home, God please save my baby wherever she is," Lindsey prayed and cried, suspecting maybe her child already fell off the cliff. She got into her car and drove straight to the station. She alighted from her car and fortunately, the same time the district attorney was approaching the entrance of the station. She head for the door and grabbed the knob to enter, which collided with the D.As hand on the knob. She looked up to realize district attorney was standing before her. She staggered and almost fell to the ground before Mr Scott Nathan; the district attorney grabbed her before reaching the ground and pulled her up. Mrs Lindsey pleaded immediately for her lack of composure. The D.A could tell immediately the evident sadness in her eyes, he let go of her hand." I'm sorry about that," she said to Mr Scott. "It's nothing, but is there any problem?" he asked. Lindsey couldn't withstand the conviction of her eyes for tears, she was so frustrated to even coordinate her thoughts. Mr Scott gave her a quick embrace and a short shoulder to cry on. She summoned some strength to push her pains apart to relay her worries to the D.A. "I'm really sorry about that ma'am, but I assure you that no stone will be left unturned to find your daughter," he promised. They both went into the station. The D.A had to override the police policies on missing persons. He ordered for the rescue teams for both air and land search to spring into action. Lindsey was so happy, knowing that something was about to be done to lacate his daughter. She requested to go with the search teams and her wish was granted. They head out of their station in search of Boma and to the location where her bag was found. They searched the surrounding areas for several hours, but to no success of finding Boma. After five hours of the search, one of the officers stumbled on a bicycle within the search area. Mrs Lindsey was called to identify the bicycle, if it belongs to her daughter. As she approached the area, she could tell from a distance that the bicycle was her daughter's. Close to the spot where her bicycle was found, the cap she had on while going to school the previous day was found. Officer Riley who head the search teams, took custody of the bicycle and cap into evidence as they continued the search. They continued the search for another three hours hoping to find her, even if it's her corpse, but still nothing resembling Boma was found. Officer Riley called his office to inform the D.A of the unsuccessful outing. He suggested to the D.A that the search should called off since she wasn't found and since there's no sign of struggle nor blood stains anywhere, he concluded that she might have escaped or walked away. The D.A instructed officer Riley to hand the phone to Mrs Lindsey, which he did. The D.A convinced her of the possibility of her child being alive, but it's late for the day to continue the search. "The search will surely continue tomorrow and we shall not rest nor relent till your daughter is found," D.A promised. "Looking at the height of the cliff and the extent of the damage of this bike," Lindsey did not allow Riley to conclude before she interrupted him, "my daughter is not dead, "Lindsey said." I'm not saying that she's dead ma'am, I'm only trying to state that it's a miracle that your child survived the fall. They abandoned the search and the officers returned to their station. Lindsey was returning home in her car at exactly 5:53p.m, the sky suddenly went completely dark. She employed her break immediately, baffled and confused about the sudden transformation of the sky from light into darkness. She alighted the car and looked up to the sky, there was a total eclipse. Lindsey got back into her car and head home straight. On getting home, she opened her door and dropped on the sofa. She kept thinking what could have happened to her daughter and weeping at the same time unsure of her fate. Suddenly, her door was ripped apart. She rushed to her feet wondering what could have done that. She started to panic seeing the door open, but nothing coming through it. Then a bolt of lightning ran into her living room, hitting her wall. She shouted on the top of her voice, but too confused to decide whether to run or just keep shouting. She experienced tremors on the ground in form of footsteps. Lindsey's eyes were wide open, unsure whether what she was experiencing was a dream to wake up from or a reality to escape. The footsteps kept approaching her door, she withdrew like five feets backwards towards the next entrance. Then someone appeared at her door. It's a man looking like a demon. His eyes completely red, his swords shinning with lightning all around and his body covered in armor. His name name was Dramagrat. He just stroke a deal with Salvatore to help conquer the world. Lindsey was frozen from fear. Dramagrat looked around the room, then his gaze caught Boma's picture with her mom on the wall. He spoke with a scary and frustrating voice " This is the carrier of the mark". He striked the picture with his sword, cutting it into pieces in a swung. Lindsey shouted, "who are you?" The demon looked straight at her and busted to laughter. Even is laughter was more horrifying. He stretched his sword towards the door behind Lindsey and it turned to a frozen barricade. Lindsey couldn't make sense of what was happening nor why, but she could tell that her end was near. He pointed his sword at her, lightning began to converge on the sword, he shook the sword and the lightning headed straight for Lindsey like a ball, there was nowhere else to run to, she just froze still on the spot looking as the lightning approached her. She closed her eyes, as tears rolled down her cheeks. She felt a very bright light before her eyes, expecting the next time her eyes opened, she would already be in the netherworld. She could still felt herself standing, but expected that something should have happened. She started hearing the room getting hit by something, she opened her eyes to see what was going on, but it was Boma in the bright light fighting the demon. She quickly hid herself and watched as they fought. Boma was holding a small starve in her hand, she flung it at the demon, as it sucked in Dramagrat and disappeared immediately. The eclipse also disappeared, as soon as Dramagrat lost his ground immediately.
