"Papa? I'm hungry. How long do we have to wait for Deena to return?"
Leah, whose tummy had been rumbling for quite some time now clearly couldn't wait for Deena to return as we wait for her on a bench.
She's currently inside a store in the supermarket trying to get some ingredients needed to make dinner tonight.
Tonight's dinner is supposed to be what yours truly had made once before which clearly made an expression in the digestive systems of all four girls.
Leah was the one who brought up the idea of eating scrambled eggs with bread once again and everyone agreed.
I hope to use this medium to really observe Deena as she prepares the meal this time around.
"Papa, I'll die of hunger. I'm so hungry."
With Leah being the one who suggested the idea of tonight's meal, it seems she's the one craving for it more than the others.
And being the drama queen that she was, she exaggerated her exhaustion as she laid helplessly on my lap.
" How about we get some of those fruits over there," I pointed towards the bunch of apples inside the store.
"I'll like that very much,". Leah responded and both Delilah and Mia agreed likewise.
And with that, I bought the fruits and returned back to the bench before Delilah sat right beside and questioned.
"Daddy? Am I going to be your bride when I grow up?"
"Huh?! W...why would you ask such a thing?" I asked trying to find out where the question stemmed from.
"That's because the dragon girl promised her dad to be his bride when she grows up," This time around, Mia replied to my question.
What kind of play were those people acting on stage? Had I known such a thing would have happened, I would have suggested we watch something else.
Now they are putting weird ideas into the girls minds.
"So how did the play ended?" I asked hoping a reasonable response that could help me answer their question would be uttered out by the girls.
"It didn't really end. There's to be a sequel next week," Leah replied to my question.
"Is that so? Phew!! Aren't you girls hungry?" I asked with the aim of feigning ignorance after seeing all three girls staring at me as they await my response.
"You said we should always wash our fruits before putting them in our mouths. I'm not really hungry as long as there's food right beside me. I will wait till we return home." Leah responded, telling me not to worry about her hunger anymore.
Phew!! Did it suddenly got hot in here.
"Daddy?"
"Of course. I love all my girls so I don't see why,"
"Really?! Yay!! I told you guys he'll say yes." Delilah asserted to both Leah and Mia to which both smiled back to me.
All three girls are still young. I'm pretty sure they would have forgotten about what was being said today by the time they become full grown adults.
"I'm sorry young master,"
Oh great, Deena's back with the ingredients. It seems she bought other ingredients needed for tomorrow's meal as well. As reliable as always. That's my Deena.
"No need to worry Deena. Let's just get going,"
"Yes young master,"
Everyone stood up as we aimed to head back home before....
"Deena? Is it really you?"
The voice of a man stopped everyone on their toes as we all turned back towards the source of the voice. I turned to my rear to see an average built dark elf with his beard, mustache and hair all having the same vibrant silver color.
Though his dressing wasn't really decent neither was it really worn out still he gave off the feeling of a man trying desperately to survive in this cruel world we live in. It's most likely he's the kind that drinks and gambles in a tavern.
"Young master, May I be permitted to....talk to this man?"
With her hands trembling a little as she tightened her grip on the grocery bag. she paused for a few seconds before steeling her resolve.
I nodded in return for her to talk to the dark elf before us. Noticing my approval she strolled with the man a few meters away from where I and the girls were. But it was still within the range of eye contact.
"What do you guys think they're saying?" Delilah whose hearing ability isn't quite as adept as both Leah and Mia, questioned about what both girls could hear.
"I'm sorry Deena,"
"It won't happen again,"
"See? I'm a changed man, "
"I love you Deena. I'll surely free you.... "
"Alright! Stop that! That's enough you too," I stopped both Leah and Mia who were eavesdropping and saying out loud what both Deena and the dark elf were saying.
I won't deny the fact that a little part of me wanted to hear what they were saying but I knew if I didn't say anything now, all would think I actually approved of what they were doing.
And not too long after, Deena bowed towards the man as she made her way here.
"Forgive me young master, I didn't intend to stay so long,"
Though she barely used up to five minutes and yet she sounded as though she had spent an hour with the elf just now. Her nonchalant voice certainly didn't help to convey how she truly felt right now.
"It's okay. I would like to.... " Though I wanted to ask who the dark elf was right now but I felt something wasn't right.
'Hmm? Something isn't right. Someone is coming for me. I will have to return everyone back home.' I thought to myself.
"Young master?"
"Everyone, we are leaving now, "
"But Daddy, aren't we...?"
"We'll do it next time Delilah. Just not now." I said while noticing that the speed at which the person was coming certainly wasn't something to take lightly.
We hurried towards the chariot and aimed for home. Upon my arrival back home, I asked everyone to stay inside.
I stood just by the doorstep before a sudden gust of wind blew towards my way and a rather old looking man dress in a Butler uniform appeared right in front of me out of thin air.
"Good day Lord Dante. Forgive my impromptu visit but this is a matter of great urgency. "
