The two packs have directives. Clear ones followed from generations back before Alpha Aspen and Rinzler came to be. No one would break them as they were as simple as a, b, c, d. How hard was it not to go around screaming to the Lake, "I am a wolf, I am a wolf."
Yeah, every member of the pack knew. Developing, the pups were informed regarding the matter and they followed it. This provided a sense of balance and certainty. No room for a surprise attack from humans. Chief Ayn and her family were the lucky ones to know of their existence. Furthermore, their knowledge of the matter came in handy.
"It is pretty simple, you are smart my child, and I trust you shall keep the rule in your head all day long." Rinzler's mother had told him one day. Those words kept ringing in his mind as he thought about whether he should tell Ivy that it had been a slip of tongue. The word meant nothing. It was hard though as it wasn't his first time calling her that.
