SYSTEM EXPLANTION

There are ten tiers of existence. Every 100 levels you can increase your tier for a boost to... everything. a racial evolution, more stats, a better class. Although there are tiers of existence, that isn't the end all be all for determining strength. It's more of a prestige system, or like a way to determine strength among races. for instance: a tier 2 Primordial God V5.0 would probably be more powerful than any tier 3 or even tier 4 human, but almost any tier 3 human would be able to outclass a tier 2.

Stats: there are two kinds: basic and intrinsic. basic stats are the classic video game stats that we all know and love, however, in MY world, they are considered a multiplier to the intrinsic stats. Every point in a stat gives a 1% increase to the multiple of the intrinsic. I'll break it down: Intrinsic stats are the absolute basic stats of any creature. With a 1.0 being that of an average representative of that race. So a human with an intrinsic stat of 1.0 in strength and 10 points invested into strength will be 10% stronger than the average human. Fit individuals may have an intrinsic stat of 1.2, making them already 20% stronger than an average human. if THIS individual had 10 points invested into strength, they would get an additional 12% bonus, instead of 10%, due to their intrinsic value. I made it this way because I always found it weird that "basic training" would raise a strength stat by +1 or something, but becomes ineffective after a certain amount. that's like saying that a scrawny Wizard and a massive Paladin would get the same bonus out of strength training initially, but after a certain point, neither of them can increase it further without dumping points into it. I may be overanalyzing it, but I wanted to be different LOL.

For those of you who don't wanna read all that (and I don't blame you), here's the most basic rundown I can give: The higher your intrinsic stat, the more use you get out of points in that basic stat. It won't affect your experience all that much if you don't understand, and if needs be I can add easier numbers to understand in the future. If you still don't get it, maybe somebody in the comments can make it easier to understand than I can.

The stats are: Strength (Str), Agility (Agi), Intelligence (Int), Wisdom (Wis), Vitality (Vit), and Spirit (Spi). Strength affects... Strength. Shocker, I know. Agility affects things like speed and balance. Intelligence affects mental acuity and mana regeneration. Wisdom affects memory and knowledge retention, as well as total mana. Vitality is where things get a bit different. There aren't going to be total health or stamina pools. I think scenes where the character is running and then "suddenly can't move" due to an empty stamina pool is stupid. I also don't like the idea that a million little -1 pricks to the finger could kill you, or that a spear through the head wouldn't kill you if you have enough health. That being said, Vitality affects resistances, like disease and poison, as well as how fast you heal. Spirit affects reflexes and mental resistances. Things like mind control, fear, or soul pressure.

I'm explaining everything here so I don't have to do so in the actual story, as I consider that an unnecessary interruption to reading and normally skip stat explanations.

In order to tier up, a significant feat is required. A level 100 tier 1 can't tier up simply by farming bunnies. they would either have to kill a rabbit boss or kill a hundred of them in one fight, something along those lines. They could even do something else altogether. A common "feat" is killing something a tier above you or attempting to achieve a record in a skill. Craftspeople can win competitions or contests against higher tiered opponents.

I was going to explain how tiering up your race works, but I'm planning on making it into something special, and it's one of the few things I won't spoil.
