Chapter 7 - Chap 7 - The Queen's Arrival: Negotiations and Confrontations

Amaterasu POV.

It had been a week since I started living with my future husband, and even if he didn't agree, I knew it wouldn't take him long to change his mind. After all, we were made for each other.

You must be wondering what happened to the group of heroes. Well, they were of no importance, as I am sure you could guess. I only knew that they returned to their kingdom to report.

I did not think they would report everything, at least not the part where they were easily defeated by my husband and his subordinates.

I was betting that these weak people would blame something external, like me or the cold weather.

That was all one would get from me as they should not expect anything more.

I found a way to forge a closer bond with my husband this week.

Today, we would be hunting, just the two of us. It took me some time to get rid of those two who insisted on getting in my way, but I was able to succeed in the end.

"Something funny Amaterasu?" Adam asked in a puzzled manner as he looked at me smiling with victory.

"No, honey." I answered with a smile.

I had to restrain myself, I couldn't let him figure out my scheme.

"Alright, we'll have to hunt a little extra today. There's a lot of people coming here lately, it seems like this land has become more vivid," Adam said as his eyes were moving all around.

That damn kingdom, if I wasn't busy here, I would have destroyed it just like I did with that other one.

"Can I ask you something, Amaterasu?" All of a sudden, Adam locked eyes with me as he asked.

He figured it out, damn, I knew I should have split that plan into more steps.

"Y…yes my love." I tried to be calm as I answered.

"What's it like outside here? Outside this forest, I've always wondered that." Thankfully, Adam was still in the unknown but still, the question caught me off guard.

How should I answer that question? All I knew were the labs and cities I'd invaded. Think Amaterasu and if you answer right, you would be able to get closer to him.

"Very nice." I uttered.

Really? All I could think of was that dull answer, this way my husband would definitely get bored and pick those two up before the day was over.

"Amaterasu, every time I think about leaving here, something seems to be holding me back, it might just be a meaningless intuition" Adam seemed to have bought my words, but I could sense some strangeness in those words.

"This place is also stunning, oddly enough, two years ago, there was nothing here." It wasn't like I knew nothing about this place. I had been here for a few years and thus knew a lot about it.

"Really?" Adam's expression had a rapid change as he asked.

This was obviously his doing, I didn't understand the reason behind that surprised face.

Adam continued to stare at the nothingness for a while before returning to talk.

"One day, will you take me to see the outside world?" He added with expectation and desire.

"Yes!" To which I joyfully answered.

This was the best day of my life, if I pulled it a little more I could get out of here straight into something spicier.

"Thanks, now let's go hunting before it gets late."

A little more, just a little more and he would definitely love me. There was no way it wouldn't happen, it was just a matter of time. Hihihi….

*RUMBLE*

Damn, this forest did everything to get in my way, just when I thought it was moving well.

"You take care of the hunt, please, I'll go see what's going on." Adam was about to head forward in order to scout the situation.

"No way, I'll take care of it, and you take care of the hunting." But I couldn't let that happen.

I had to show myself to him every chance I got.

I ran as far as I could to find the source of this disturbance, which was about the Queen's arrival.

There were two plausible possibilities, either she came after the princess, or somehow to hitch a ride from my husband.

"Greetings, Amaterasu, Goddess of the Dead" The Queen greeted me with her flowery words.

"What do you want here? Queen of a failed kingdom." I was definitely not feeling good with her sudden arrival.

That woman, what did she want here?

"Negotiate." A single word answer with her calm tone, it definitely irked my mind.

"Why did the Grand Queen enter this humble forest for such a trivial matter? If you want to negotiate with me, you already know the answer." I added a hint of sarcasm to my words, and taunted her in a cold manner.

"Let's avoid this talk, I would like to speak with the boy." The Queen strangely seemed adamant and asked for something that I did not like.

This was the worst possible scenario, that old man told me about my husband.

"He will not be involved in political fights between you and your husband." I had to draw the line right here.

"You don't speak for him." But she did not want that to happen.

The army started to march toward me as they heard the Queen's words.

Slash!

I braided a line with my sword.

"If you move one step further, I'll forget we're friends." Since words would not work, then sword was it.

"I have tolerated this girl's attitude for too long, long live the Queen." One of the soldiers proclaimed before rushing toward me with the sword in his hand.

Even though he gathered courage, I was able to kill the soldier without any effort.

"There goes any chance of negotiation." The Queen sighed as the situation deteriorated.

I looked at the Queen for a moment before we drew our swords.

Because the Queen wasted time on that stupid King, I was able to get an advantage in the fight. Her blows were slow and easy to predict, so I would be able to get an easy win and get praised by my husband.

"Why do all our encounters end up like this?" The Queen asked as she parried a slash from my sword.

"Because you're always wanting to take advantage of me to take down that stupid guy." I answered before swinging my sword once again.

"Deposing him is the best thing for everyone." The Queen seemed adamant for some reason today.

But she was right, though I didn't care enough to help. Our fight continued for a short time, as she was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Amaterasu, what are you doing with Isabella's mother?" The voice of someone pierced the fight and just like that we reached a conclusion.

That voice belonged to my dear.

Adam approached the battlefield together with Isabella
