Chapter 104 - Chapter One Hundred Four: Chaos

Ms. Lunatique put the white chalk down before turning around to face the high schoolers behind her.

With a green chalkboard that was filled with information relating to Dna and Rna behind her, Ms. Lunatique spoke.

"Let's stop here for today."

When those o'-so-sweet words slipped into the ears of the students in Tearju's class, the sound of pencils landing on desks and relieved sighs were heard about 2.5 seconds later.

Tear's lesson was truly…truly something.

It was long…but it contained enough information to make someone who never knew a lick about biotechnology be promoted to a level two novice if they were able to memorize, understand, and retain all the information Tearju enthusiastically spewed out with a smile on her face.

"Teacher, I have an important question." Saruyama, Rian's perverted friend who hadn't been heard or seen in, give or take, 70+years, raised his hand highly and asked with a tiny grin on his face.

"Ah, yes, Please go ahead."

Tearju, believing that he was about to ask a question about today's lesson, was more than willing to answer a student's question to the best of her ab–

"Do you have a boyfriend?

"Eh?"

Was what automatically came out Tearju's mouth after hearing that question.

"Hey!!!!" Yui shouted.

Saruyama acted like he didn't hear Yui shout. He just looked at the nearby high school boys and asked them something.

"Aren't you guys curious?"

Because Saruyama, for reasons unknown to the public, arrived a little after Rian, he had no idea that most, if not all, the boys had given up on Tearju after seeing her smile at Rian.

However…

For some reason…

"Yeah…Yeah, I'm also curious!!" One boy said–no, shouted vigorously.

This boy was fed up of Rian Yuki taking all the named girls and leaving the background characters to them.

When the other boys heard that boy shout with vigor, a tiny fire in their being…arose from the dead.

"We are also curious!"

Saryuma grinned and nodded at their resolve.

"Hey!!!" Yui shouted once again.

The boys, however, acted like they didn't hear Yui, and began bombarding the teacher with the questions that appeared in their minds.

"What's your idea of a date?"

"What do you look for in a guy?"

"Do you ever plan on getting married?"

Because of the boy's loud and nonstop questions, some of the girls got mad…or perhaps even envious…and started yelling.

"Shut it!"

"Can't you see your questions are bothering her."

"Tone it down a bit, boys."

And..

Just like that…

"No, you shut up! You're jealous for no reason." One guy fired back.

"Nobody's jealous." A girl retorted.

A chaotic classroom civil war between high school boys and high school girls had promptly begun.

Wooooooo!!!!

Tearju wanted to stop it, but she couldn't come up with a solution at the moment. She just kept looking around the class in a panic.

Among the chaos, cackling like two evil witches…were Risa and Mio. They occasionally threw out some banter to keep the chaos going.

Lala, seeing this little war, excitedly took out one of her inventions. The invention was called soundproof-kun, and it was, in short, a big blue button. She smiled and dramatically slammed down on the blue button with her whole hand. This action completely stopped any sound or voices from getting outside the class. Even if one hundred black holes collided in this classroom, no one, even someone with their ear pressed against the door, would hear it.

Oshizu…

Oshizu was somehow sleeping throughout this. Maybe because she played video games with Rian all night.

Haruna just sat in her seat like a goody-two-shoes. Her leg was moving up down though.

Run was looking over her notes. As an Idol who often missed school, she had to maintain her grades.

Yui was actively involved in the chaos and also trying to stop it.

As for Rian, he was attempting to get a butterfly out of his ear by slowly and gently tilting his head back and forth. If he made a mistake, the butterfly would die in his ear, causing him to have a dead butterfly in his ear.

"Uh…Everyone, um, let's calm do—

Tearju took a step forward, not remembering that there was a wooden lecturn podium in front of her. Because of her forgetfulness, the bottom part if her leg whacked against the edge of lecturn podium.

Although the sound of her hitting the lecturn podium wasn't as loud as the yelling, everyone stopped yelling and looked at the teacher who was turned away, crouching down, shaking, and hugging her leg with mini tears in her green eyes.

Yui and Haruna were the first to rush to Tearju to check if she was alright.

"Are you alright?" Haruna asked gently.

Tearju slowly turned her head towards Yui and Haruna while hugging her leg.

"...Ye-Yeah. That was noth—"

Tearju tried to show that she was alright by forcing herself to stand up. But before she could stand completely up, her head collided with the metal part of the chalkboard she was writing on not to long ago.

Tearju held her head with both her hands and crouched down lower than the time she hit her leg.

Haruna and Yui made comically shocked expressions after seeing their teacher's clumsiness.

The other girls in the class grew worried…while the boys…well, the boys looked at her clumsy actions as a plus with stars in their eyes.

Part Two:

Rian walked through the halls of Sainan High with Tearju.

Originally, he and Tearju were about to go to Mikado's office for assistance with their problems.

Rian was going for the butterfly in his ear, and Tearju was going for hitting her head and knee.

But on their way to the infirmary, the butterfly suddenly flew out of Rian's ear…and Tearju just decided to just put a cold soda on her head and knee.

Now the two were walking back to class.

"Are you sure that's enough? We can still go to the infirmary." Rian asked.

"It's…enough. Going to the infirmary on my first day because I clumsily hit my leg and head in front of all my students would be, uh…"

"Ridiculous? Embarrassing? Humiliating?"

Tearju's face turned red…but she let out a somewhat meek response.

"...Yes."

Rian let out a low and little laugh.

A few seconds, after Mr. Yuki and Ms. Lunatique turned left on one of the corners of the school, Tearju's eyes widened and trembled.

In the near distance, she saw Yam–No, Eve walking away from them. Even though Tearju could only see her back, she was immediately able to recognize Eve.

Yami wasn't in front of them earlier or walking towards them, so she must've come from a area nearby.

Tearju…

Tearju…

She…did exactly as Yami did earlier this morning.

She hid behind the exact corner she passed mere moments ago.

Since Rian was right beside Tearju, he, naturally, saw Yami. He also how Tearju hid upon seeing her.

Rian sighed…but he didn't say anything. He just went behind the same corner as Tearju.

Tearju bent down and peeked around the corner like a stalker, and continued to do so until she could no longer see Yami.

"…"

Tearju turned around to face Rian.

They were both silent for a short while…until Tearju broke it.

"I'm…sorry." Tearju suddenly apologized.

Rian tilted his head to the side.

"Hmm? What for?" Rian asked, seemingly confuffled.

"You…You and Mikado did so much…but…but I hid when I finally saw her in person. So…I'm so… so sorry."

Without realizing it, tears had started to build in Tearju's eyes.

Rian, once again, let out a sigh.

He approached Tearju and gave her a gentle and consoling hug.

Tearju's wet, green eyes unfocused from sudden Rian's hug.

Although they had hugged the first time they met, this hug…it felt different.

It, in a way, felt warmer…and much, much special.

"I'm in the process of racking my brain for a quote to cheer you up, but it seems I can't think of one." Rian suddenly spat out.

With wet eyes, Tearju let out a low bit of laughter.

That honesty…or what seemed to be an honest statement, cheered her up more than some random quote probably would've.

Unbeknownst to Tearju…or even perhaps Mr. Misfortunate, someone who asked to leave her first year class to get something to drink was watching them with a dark gaze in her blue eyes.

The red and blue lolipop that she was once happily licking before she saw Rian and Tearju…snapped.
