Egil stood on a stage, on the tens of other stages around him stood the other members of the elite class, all equipped with various weapons. Egil spotted Elyse with her whip, looking confident in the battle to come.
As the students of the elite class stood on their platforms, a door on the far side of the structure opened, and a group of students walked in, each of them sporting their own weapons, similar to the elite class, the most popular weapons seemed to be polearms, with spears taking the lead, followed by Halberds.
Egil gripped his Shield and Axe tightly, looking at who he assumed to be the teacher of class b stepped forward, walking towards professor night with a confident gait. The teacher had an incredibly muscular body with long blue hair in a high ponytail. His features were twisted in pride, it looked as if he had never seen the ground since he was born.
"Professor Night," He said courtly
"Professor Grahm" She responded
"I hope your elite class can stand to the challenge"
"There's a reason your class is called Class B Grahm"
Professor Grahm was peeved. His face twitched as he tried his best to keep his expression in check. Professor Night was stronger than him, it was a simple truth of the world. As professor Grahm rained in his rage he called upon his class to take a stage. Unlike the elite class, class b got to choose who they would fight, it didn't matter how unfair it was, because life itself is unfair, simple as that.
In Egils arena, a boy carrying a long halberd had stepped into his Ring. Egil vaguely recognized the kid as one of the few dual elementals that he saw at the library. Egil truly felt disgusted at his Opponent, he had every opportunity and chance to make it into the elite class, and here he was, a class b student.
As the boy stepped into the arena he began introducing himself, pride and arrogance in his tone as he spoke his name. "Listen well kid, I am the great Lucas Graham, son of professor Graham, surrender now and maybe I'll take it easy on-" Honestly, Egil tuned him out after learning his name, he understood why the boy was here, Nepotism. Instead of listening to the spiel from Lucas, he instead looked at his friend's match, which seemed to have kicked off the moment her opponent stepped into the arena, unlike his.

In Elyse's arena, things had truly gone from o-100 in an instant. Her opponent, a very tall boy with a great mace had rushed at her in full force, his gigantic mace raised above his head as if he wanted to crush her in one mighty blow.
Elyse was familiar with his type, hot-headed battle maniacs that rush in without a plan. Elyse on the other hand knew exactly how to deal with him, as the boy closed in on her, Elyse rushed forwards, instantly closing the distance and putting herself centimeters from the boy's chest. With a simple swing Elyse's whip unfurled and shot downwards like a snake striking from the grass, this was Elyse's weapon technique, [Snake Whip].
As the boy's eyes widened Elyse's whip wrapped around his feet like a constricting snake. The boy was helpless as his momentum carried him forwards, tripping him and making him shoot towards the ground. With a surprisingly loud crash, the boy slammed into the ground. With quick and measured steps Elyse ran behind the boy, who was struggling to stand up and wrapped her whip around his neck, pulling tighter and tighter until the boy slipped into unconsciousness, Easily winning her fight.
Professor Night quickly declared Elyse's victory, the first victory in the entire hall, with a smug grin. Professor Graham turned his attention back from Elyse's fight back to his sons. Graham knew the boy he was fighting was just some village brat with luck. Graham saw his son winding up for an attack on the unsuspecting boy, he doubted the boy would even realize what hit him.
Graham's smile grew wider as the boy seemed to stare off into space, as his son attacked he felt assured knowing his son would make it into the elite class without a hitch, until…
…
Sensing an object rapidly approaching him Egil quickly Raised his shield and braced, not a second too late in fact as the heavy bang of Lucas' halberd slamming into his shield sounded out a second later, Egil felt a heavy recoil from the hit, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. With a heavy shout, Egil pushed his shield forwards, making use of his opponent's evident surprise to swing his halberd upward, using his shield like a wedge to make it impossible to bring down upon him.
With a grunt Egil swung his axe towards his opponent's unprotected belly, just to meet the shaft of his halberd, which he had hastily lowered to the side to just barely block his attack. With a strong push Egil slammed his shield and his opponent's halberd into his opponent's chest making him stagger backward and allowing Egil to catch his breath after the surprise attack. Regaining control of his breathing Egil once again rushed forwards this time bracing behind his shield as he ran, intending to shield bash his opponent.
Lucas, his opponent, realized what Egil intended to do and slightly grinned, planning to sidestep him before slamming his halberd into his opponent's back. Of course, Egil knew his intentions would be revealed the moment he started to move so he had a different idea, although admittedly risky he couldn't help but like the idea.
Egil took a deep breath and locked his eyes on his opponent. Utilizing his momentum Egil used a secret technique his father had taught him just before his 12th birthday, The [Rebounding Shield Throw]. That's right, Egil planned to throw his shield at his opponent and follow up with a mighty [Heavy Slash] to finish him off.
As Egil approached Lucas he utilized his momentum, along with a slight jump, to spin his body at incredible speeds, shooting his shield forwards like an arrow from a bow, and heavily slamming into the small body of Lucas Graham, knocking the wind out of his lungs and the light out of his eyes. Egils shields, on the other hand, had different plans, launching away into the distance before crashing into the side of a nearby arena.

As Graham saw his son collapse onto the ground, red began to cloud his vision, his reasoning slowly receded as a large Pure Red wolf manifested next to him. In an instant the red wolf launched itself at Egil, leaving a trail of scorched earth in its wake. As the Wolf Reached Egil and fear reared its ugly head on his face, a mighty blast of wind slammed into the side of the wolf launching it hundreds of meters away into the walls of the vast hall they were in.
As clarity returned to Graham's face his features twisted in horror, realizing the magnitude of the crimes he had just committed. Attacking someone of the academy outside of a duel was punishable by death, let alone using a partner beast and attacking a student as a teacher. As he saw the blast of wind launch his Flare wolf he recalled the stories he had heard about her, the unseen tempest, leaving nothing but destruction in her wake and not even a shadow to prove she had been there. To this day there was speculation on the true nature of the mysterious elite class teacher, but the few who knew the truth were either dead or her closest allies.
Graham began begging for his life, forgetting that this whole incident was because his son was heavily injured. With every cry of his getting more desperate as professor night drew closer Graham's voice began to give out. Professor night on the other hand felt nothing as she slowly unsheathed her brilliant emerald dagger from its sheath, raising it slowly.
"No, please, spare my life" Graham begged with a raspy voice
"I'll do anything I swe-"
*Shing*
Professor Night's dagger swung and blood flew, leaving a headless corpse and a head filled with tears in its path. This was not the first time professor night had killed somebody and it wouldn't be the last. With the corpse of the professor lying warm on the ground the few fights still going on stopped, as the fighters stared in terror at professor night and the headless corpse on the ground.
Seemingly unaware of the terror she had struck into the hearts of the student's professor Night's cold voice rang out over the hall. "The duels will continue another day" she declared, her voice suddenly regaining the gruff and lazy tone it had adopted previously.
"And someone clean up this trash on the floor, please" Professor night finished before leaving the hall, the only sound other than the student's heavy breathing and the occasional sound of vomiting being the shuffle of a staff member carrying the corpse of professor graham away.
