Michel who was left all alone in the middle of a thick jungle calmly observed his surroundings.
"The first thing that the climber has to learn is self-awareness, always be aware of your surroundings and yourself, don't let the emotions take better of you, and be calm"
He remembered his gramps teachings as he breathed steadily, controlling his excitement and nervousness, which was telling him to run wild in the jungle. His gramps sure was damn amazing, it made Michel think, 'Just where did that back-bent old geezer learn all this?'
Anyway, suppressing his emotions, Michel observed his surroundings calmly.
The Envoy creature... had long disappeared after instructing what needed to be done, without any further information. So he had to figure out everything else by himself.
The first thing was to make sure he was able to survive and to ensure his survival, food, and shelter were the main things.
so he made it his first priority to search for some fruits or anything that could be edible. The other things were....well, that could wait till he found a stable shelter.
But no matter in which direction he looked, every side was filled with trees and bushes. The lush green forest was everywhere around him.
"I wonder what kind of beast...."
Grrrr....!
He didn't even have the time to finish his sentence as a fox jumped out of the bush as if to welcome him to their island!
Normally people would be scared if that happened to them or maybe a little bit frustrated and nervous, but Michel was never normal, he was an oddball who sought fun. Seeing the red fox that jumped out of the bush, adrenaline kicked into his bloodstream, and excitement started to build inside him.
"Finally, the feel of adventure, ah...! I love it"
grrr....!
The fox was quite a bit confused seeing this crazy man who was laughing and looking at it, and it definitely was not friendly enough to stand idly, as it pounced on him without any notice.
Luckily, he dodged in time and rolled away.
Swoosh!
The fox which missed the target, landed near where he was previously standing, It was getting ready to chase its prey again when an arrow pierced its neck.
It didn't even have the time to react as the arrow pierced it, and the culprit who did that was the same boy who barely dodged its first attack.
In the short time that took the fox to land on the ground and look for him, he rolled away while simultaneously taking out his bow and his other hand was already in possession of the arrow, by the time the fox saw his location, the arrow has already left his bow, which perfectly pierced the fox's throat, which was preparing to pounce on him once again.
The fox fell limping to the floor, it yelped in pain as the arrow that was stuck in its neck started to get bloody, and shortly after it died with no means to resist.
"What, damn! that was too easy, I should have used my fists instead"
"...."
Anyway, as soon as the fox died, a notification came notifying its death.
ding!
[You have slain Forest Fox lv.1]
[you have gained experience]
[Level up!]
[you have reached level 1]
[You have made an achievement]
[Achievement: First Kill of the batch}
________
Awarded for one who had made the first kill among the Tutorial batch of challengers.
reward: +1 all stats
_________
Michel who made sure that there were no other foxes with that one, read through the messages.
Normally, it would have been a bit hard for new challengers to fight with the beasts, and definitely would not be possible to kill it with a single strike! but Michel was a bit special.
He was trained like hell from childhood by his parents and his gramps, so much so that there were currently no monsters on the tutorial that could possibly be a threat to him. His reaction speed alone was terrifying, the thing that he lodged an arrow in the fox's throat in a matter of seconds was enough to prove that.
Well, he did get a D- rank mercenary plate while he was hunting with his father after all.
For a newbie who entered the Tower, his skill was far above what anyone could expect.
Michel looked at the fox that was now on the ground with an arrow piercing its neck, he had learned how to skin the animals and was also fairly good at cooking so it would not be a problem for him to make a stew using its meat.
"The Achievement was unexpected but I managed to obtain some meat, so let's be satisfied with this for now"
He reasoned himself as he regretted killing the fox so fast!
Even though the achievement only provided a single point to all stats, it totally gave him 5 stat points. Even though it wasn't much, it was worth a level of stat points, who would reject a free powerup even though it was small.
Not to mention that as he level up, the difficulty of leveling up is going to increase, on which these stats points would seem more precious.
He assigned his newly gained 5 stat points from leveling up and his status looked like this.

___________
As he mainly used a bow, Dexterity was very important for him so he increased it by four points dumping another point to increase his health.
Furthermore, another message caught his attention.
[Mana has been Unlocked]
The limit of common people! Mana.
It was what separated the normal beings outside the Tower from the climbers, as intelligence was required to be above 20 to unlock mana, it was simply impossible for common people to unlock it without the help of the Tower, although there were some exceptions like in a planet where mana existed from the beginning.
"Does that mean I am no longer a Normal man?"
He smiled as he played with a light blue strand of energy that came out of his body. It was like dense gas with light blue color to it.
"So this is mana? Gramps said it would be difficult to use this but it is surprisingly easy"
Well, it wasn't easy at all, just that he was a monster.
Anyway, he canceled all the windows in front of him and walked alone in the dense jungle in the middle of nowhere, to search for shelter.

"Surviving here doesn't seem that difficult"
Linda who sat atop a tree chewing on a fruit that seemed like a green apple murmured looking at the people down the tree.
There was a huge man who looked to be in his 40s with a build, like that of an overgrown pig yelling at a bunch of people.
"Go search for food, you morons, You think I gather all of you here to chit-chat? I will personally kill anyone who doesn't bring back anything for me to eat"
He was bickering with the other people who were unfortunate enough to end up with him, his saliva was splattering on their faces as he talked but they just endured it knowing full well what would transpire if they dared to talk back.
Strength was everything in the tower. If you are strong, then you are the law.
The one who knows that were likely to survive than those who foolishly think about justice and some sh*t.
"There is always these kinds of trash wherever you go"
For Linda who had grown up in slums, it was just a normal occurrence, she had been through things like this so many times that the scene didn't even surprise her anymore.
But it was not like she was going to help them, and the one she was blaming was not the pig-like man but the bunch of people around him.
"It was their fault for being weak"
that's right, being weak was a sin. Weak didn't have the privilege to ask for justice.
If they knew they were weak, then they probably should have stayed back on their home planet and made living by doing some odd jobs, why challenge a tower when you know you are weak and incompetent?
"They are just like leaches"
Even if it is disgraceful, even if it was underhanded, they chose to be leeches who suck up to the people with strength.
"I hate people like that more"
She turned away in annoyance but the shining ring in the hand of the Overgrown pig caught her attention.
"Now, that's something to look at!"
She licked her lips and her eyes glittered seeing the ring, strangely enough, even her hands also started to itch!
"Time to get back to work!"
