Chapter 62 - Chapter 62

"What did you say?" Evie asked as she blinked severally.

"You had been breaking the rules lately and I need to sanction you," Ezekiel told her calmly but there was a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"I didn't wish to break the rules but extreme conditions require extreme measures," Evie said.

"Really? So you mean cooking soup for me is an extreme measure?" Asked Ezekiel who wanted to make a caricature of her.

"You were not feeling fine so I had to prepare something for you to eat," Evie retorted.

"Really?" Ezekiel cocked an eyebrow.

"Fine. Go ahead and punish me, besides what is the worst that can happen? You confiscated my cell phone, who in the twenty-first century doesn't have a mobile phone?" Evie asked with her arms folded at her chest.

Ezekiel stiffened after he heard Evie's statement, maybe he really went too far in punishing her, he was too blinded by rage then that he didn't think how his actions would affect Evie.

"I will get you a cell phone tomorrow," Ezekiel promised.

Evie's face lit up, "thank you," she muttered.

"Your punishment would be…" Ezekiel trailed off intentionally.

"Would be?" Evie asked, she seemed impatient.

"You would have to prepare this soul for me for the next month," Ezekiel announced with a mischievous smirk on his face.

"That is all?" Evie asked, disbelief washing her features.

"Of course not, you would have to feed me the soup," Ezekiel added, causing Evie's jaw to drop.

What in the name of God happened?

Meanwhile,

Sonia became suspicious of the SUV trailing behind her, she looked at the car through the rear mirror when she parked by the roadside.

Since she left the shopping mall, the car had been following her in a far distance.

Sonia smirked evilly, this must be the handwork of Laura Kings but then Sonia was smarter to have purchased a bullet proof car.

Sonia roared the engine to life and drove off at high speed. As expected the SUV continued following her.

Sonia entered a lonely road and continued driving the car at high speed.

She was too engrossed in the car trailing behind her that she didn't notice the one who blocked the road in the front.

"F**k!" Sonia cursed out loud. This was harder than she thought, she tried reversing but the two other cars surrounded her.

"Well I can do this the hard way," she Nia muttered and without warning brought out her gun and fired at the driver in the car in front of her.

That action caused bullets to rain in her car but the good news was that the car was bullet proof.

In no time, she finished all her assassins and drove off.

Sonia lodged in a small hotel. She changed out of her clothes and soaked herself in a hot bath.

After bathing, she wore simpler clothes and sat at the edge of the bed and placed her laptop on her lap.

The news of her death was on the internet, she clicked the video of her burial and seeing her daughter ball out her eyes broke her. This was for the best.

Her phone rang and without looking at the caller ID, she picked up the call.

"Sonia," her uncle's voice echoed through the phone.

Sonia stiffened, her uncle wasn't supposed to know that she was alive.

"Who are you?" Sonia pretended to be oblivious.

"Drop the pretence, Avery," her uncle said and Sonia knew that he was serious especially when he used her middle name.

"What do you want, uncle Eden?" Sonia asked.

"How could you claim that you are dead?" Eden fired.

"Because this is all a plot. Uncle Eden, Laura Kings is the problem of the Kings family, she has done more harm than good," Sonia explained.

"You haven't answered my question Avery," Eden fired.

"It is Sonia!!" Sonia roared, she hated it when people used her middle name.

"Uncle Eden, if I tell you all that Laura Kings had done then you wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet through her head, just be patient and trust me, when the time is right, I will strike, please uncle Eden," Sonia pleaded.

"Fine, where exactly are you so I can come pick you up and take you home, my brother, Axel would be happy to see you," Eden told her.

"I would text you my location uncle, please stay safe," Sonia told him, she knew her mother very well, she would try to hurt them.

"Alright, stay safe as well," Eden soad before ending the call.

Sonia slumped on the bed and shut her eyes. Everything happening lately had been overwhelming but she was going to see the end of this game.

Her phone rang again and a hiss escaped Sonia's lips, she tried ignoring the call but the caller kept on calling.

"Damn it," Sonia yelled as she picked up the call.

"What is it Clara?" Sonia asked her assistant.

"I think I have found who sent those assassins," Clara stated

"I know but you have to keep your mouth shut," Sonia ordered.

"Seriously? Why don't you just end him?" Clara asked.

"Because I need him alive for my plan, but don't worry his days are numbered," Sonia stated.

"What are you going to do about your mom?" Clara asked.

"She tried to assassinate me today," Sonia said with a chuckle.

"It is not funny ma'am," Clara retorted.

"Fine, I would want you to keep your tabs on Laura Kings, I know that woman and she would do anything for power, riches and fame, even if it includes killing me," Sonia said.

"That is all?" Clara asked.

"Yes, at least for now, I will see you…" Sonia trailed off when she heard sounds of gunshot.

Laura Kings must really be serious about killing her today.
