We walked out of the court holding hands and smiling. We discussed for a while till his driver came to him up. Since we were now on good terms, he asked me to come with and they'd drop me off. He also wanted to say hi to my family so I accepted and we both went. All the while he kept on holding my hand. We got to my house, he said hi to my family and gave us some money. He gave me quite an amount too personally and then he left.
It was the next Tuesday and the last day of our exams. We were to write Further Mathematics. When we saw each other at school, he ran up to me and hugged me. We greeted and he told me that his father had agreed. It wasn't a problem to him at all. Thank goodness! I was really happy so I thanked him and we went up to class to write our exam. We were done by 2pm as the theory and objective were at different periods.
We were finally done with secondary school! The rich kids clique couldn't mess with me anymore although their attacks reduced a lot when Auwal came. We were all really excited and we kept screaming and shouting in school. They had to beg us to turn it down. We all laughed and continued talking and hugging. A lot of them were crying but I wasn't. I wasn't going to miss most of them except my scholarship gang and Jabir. He was the only friend of Auwal's that was respectful and courteous to everyone irrespective of the social class. I would have said Auwal but we were getting married so that wasn't a cause for concern.
Our graduation party was on the way and I was Auwal's date. When the other girl who liked him heard this they almost exploded. The party came and we got ready. Auwal bought me a nice material and sewed it for me. The style was so beautiful. He came to pick me up in the afternoon for the party. He saw me in the dress and showered me with so many compliments. We had so much fun at the party and he introduced me as his wife to be. While some were happy for us, others were furious and swole up like pumped balloons. We didn't care. All that mattered was our happiness.
Everything had already been arranged so we got married a week after our graduation party. The wedding ceremony was done in grand style. I mean..... it was the talk of the town for a week. There were dancers, different forms of entertainment, lots of fun and of course our traditional attires were eye catching. Of course the wedding ceremony of the child of a very wealthy man will speak money. We got the blessings of our parents and siblings. We all ate, drank and we're merry.
His father gave him one of his house so we could have our privacy and live together. So Auwal's new house was where we went to after the ceremony was over. We were finally alone. Our wedding night was wonderful and we became one in body. It was the best experience I ever had. A while later I got pregnant and we had our first child. It was a boy and we named him Ahmed in memory of my late brother.
The promise was fulfilled and his dad sponsored both of us to the university. We both went to the same university as Auwal didn't want to be away from me. He was very protective but not overprotective. We studied different courses and had the best time because we were together. My love for him grew stronger every single day. He was such an amazing husband. He still is. Being a mom while attending a university was very challenging but Auwal helped me and we pulled through together. We chose not to have more children till we were done with school so we could focus on Ahmed and out studies.
I finally fulfilled my dream. I graduated! We both did and he went up to managing one of his father's businesses. I got a job thanks to connection and I was paid very well. We had four more children; three boys and two girls. We never lacked anything as we were wealthy now. The rest of my siblings were also well to do. My parents were well taken care of by us all because they were really wonderful parents even if we had our differences at some point especially me. I'm still living my best life with the love of my life by my side and my children. Family matters most and so do our dreams. I'm grateful to God for everything and I couldn't have asked for better. As for those who looked down on us, well let's just say our end was better than our beginning. Shame on them but most importantly glory to God. The End.
