Chapter 29 - Chapter 28: I Don’t Need a Headache Inducer

"D*mn it. Shut that mouth of yours already! "

If this man wasn't his friend and his doctor, Alistair would have silenced Kent with a sock in his mouth. He could be so irritating in the weirdest ways.

Kent laughed even more instead. What an annoying b*stard indeed!

After Mr. Alistair left, Loraine immediately went to the hotel arranged by Sarah to rest.

Her legs almost gave out when she was alone in her room. She slumped on the sofa instead, since Sarah was about to enter the room.

The tension Loraine felt during the event still affected her.

After all, it was her first time experiencing something truly dangerous, even if she just helped.

She merely did her best not to show everyone that deep inside, she was nervous and on edge about everything that was going on.

*Sigh…

"Miss Loraine, why are you sighing so deeply?" Sarah inquired immediately when she heard her.

"Nothing in particular. I think I'm just drained because of yesterday."

"Do you want me to book a massage for you? It would help you relax and relieve your exhaustion," Sarah suggested.

"Why didn't I think of a massage?

You are really great, Sarah! "

Sarah always had the best suggestions.

Loraine was rather amazed at how calm and collected Sarah was the entire time.

It reminded her that not just anyone could work for an heiress.

Sarah must have been chosen because she most likely already had experience dealing with matters like those of yesterday.

"Oh, right. You can arrange it for me later.

Can you tell me more about Mr. Alistair? "

Loraine wanted to know more about Mr. Alistair to at least know more about the person she helped.

She read some articles online, but they were mostly nonsensical and things she didn't need to know about.

Moreover, she had to take anything in the news with a grain of salt.

Who knows what was true and what was not?

"I don't know much about him either," Sarah admitted.

"It's okay; you can just tell me whatever you have heard about him," Loraine urged.

"As everyone knows, Mr. Alistair is a very successful businessman. He started his first company at the age of eighteen," Sarah began.

'Wow, that's quite young. It meant he already planned it before he even turned 18,' Loraine was impressed.

It wasn't easy to survive in the business world at such a young age, even if he was from a wealthy family.

"What is his business about?"

"Most of Mr. Alistair's business is related to technology. The most popular products they have are the improved and latest versions of VR glasses."

'They also have that here?

And it's his business?

It was trending even back in my world.

People were going crazy about it.

I wonder what VR tech is like here,' Loraine became curious.

Maybe she would ask Sarah to get one for her.

"I see… No wonder he is very successful. Then, what business partnership does my father have with him?"

Loraine didn't even know what it was about. The former owner didn't care about learning about all her father's business deals.

"Well, it is about improved AI for homes and automobiles," Sarah informed.

"Oh! You mean, like, BB?! " Loraine recalled the AI in her room.

"Yes, BB is among the first batch made. But Sir Rand had BB made especially for your comfort," Sarah smiled.

"I see… BB is quite nice indeed. But it would be better if she didn't have such a cold voice," Loraine recalled how surprised she was when she first heard BB's cold voice.

"Oh, should I ask them to change BB? " Sarah asked.

"Eh? No need; BB's doing her job well." Loraine quickly shook her head before the poor AI was switched out.

"What about Mr. Alistair's family? " Loraine brought back the topic to him.

"His parents died in a plane accident when he was seven years old, and according to the rumors, he isn't close to any of his family members."

'Oh my. He lost his parents quite early.'

"Anything else? Do you know anything more about him?" Lorraine wanted to know more.

"No, that is all I know about Mr. Alistair.

Miss, why are you suddenly asking so much about him?

You seem so interested in him.

Do you perhaps have a crush on him?

Should I ask your father to talk about an engagement? " Sarah teased.

"What the?! No way. Stop with that. I am just curious about him because we saved him," Loraine quickly clarified.

She was just curious because she saved him and because his name sounded familiar. Not from her memory as Loraine Antares but from her former self.

She was just trying to get more information to see if she could remember something, but she still couldn't remember anything.

Who would have thought her questions could be interpreted this way?

"Are you sure, Miss Loraine?

Mr. Alistair is handsome, gentle, kind, and polite.

He is also a very successful businessman, as he is already a billionaire at his age. He is the dream husband of a lot of women! "

"Ugh, who cares about those?

I didn't even think about it.

He is a man getting chased by his own family.

They almost killed him," Loraine pointed out.

Who would want to get into that kind of trouble?

If the ladies chasing him knew about it, they would likely run.

They were only so interested in him because they only saw the surface and not the dangers that lurked behind him.

Loraine was better off steering herself clear of him. She would only contact him about her reward if it was truly necessary.

"Right, haha," Sarah chuckled at her reaction. "Then, who or what type of man do you want to marry?"

Sarah inquired like an old lady excited to see about the love lives of youngsters. Sarah wasn't even that old, though.

But the latter seemed to be curious because she didn't see Loraine with any boyfriends, unlike most ladies her age.

"I have none.

And do I even need to marry?

I think I have all the things I need right now.

What would I even use a husband for?

I don't need a headache inducer," Loraine shrugged, and Sarah chuckled yet again.
