While slowly approaching the snake Leo took out his daggers from Inventory and got ready to strike.
While Leo was walking towards the sleeping snake, the beast's eyes widely opened. It immediately sensed someone besides itself in the cave. Quickly scanning the attacker's Rank snake grinned. An Awakener Rank human came to present himself as a dinner.
While the snake was almost jumping in joy. Leo was still trying to sneak up on the beast, hoping that it wouldn't sense him and wake up.
When he was in range to strike, he held his daggers above the beast's and slashed downwards.
Before the strike could land the snake suddenly opened its eyes, opened its jaws with 2 huge teeth making Leo fall back. Before Leo even had a chance to recover from an unexpected attack the snake shot out a Black color Mana orb directed at his upper body.
Before the orb was able to hit Leo, he used skill [ Mana Enhancement ] to envelop his chest. The orb heavily slammed into him sending him flying across the cave. Leo hit the wall.
Crack... Crack...
Leo heard two of his ribs get broken after the collision with the wall. After falling on the ground he vomited blood.
' Fuck, that was darkness element wasn't it ? Why is it so destructive ? '
Leo's mind was in turmoil, but when he heard scales rubbing against rocks he tensed up.
' This beast doesn't even give me chance to recover '
Leo weakly stood up. He was caught in surprise and now was injured. He knew that he would heal fully in 10 minutes, but his opponent was very stingy with time and was quickly approaching Leo.
Leo felt a weird sense of fear looking at the snake size of a small truck quickly slithering towards him. It almost felt disturbing to Leo.
' Fucking snake...Give me your teeth !'
Leo braced himself for a head on fight.
The snake threw its agile body towards Leo. Leo was about to sidestep to his right, but his body was assaulted by pain, because of his broken ribs. He lost only a second, because of that, but considering how fast the snake was moving he wouldn't be able to dodge its attack.
Having no other choice Leo used Skill [ Draconic Eyes ]. He was very hesitant on using it, because it costed way too much Mana.
As soon as Leo used [ Draconic Eyes ] his eye pupils turned into slits and started giving off pressuring Aura. The Snake was momentarily stunned, but quickly recovered and threw itself towards Leo. It opened its mouth trying to simply devour him.
Leo now had time to evade and threw himself to the side.
Crackk....
The snake loudly crashed into the cave's wall. The cave started trembling, but soon stopped.
Leo was carefully glancing at the roof of the cave, because there were some huge Stalactites hanging there.
While Leo was looking around, the snake recovered from the collision and started hissing at him. It was once again reassessing its attacker. When the human entered the cave, the snake felt that he was barely an Early Awakener Rank Human, but just now the human showed that he holds power way above his rank.
Even though the snake had an intelligence of a 5 years old human, it was certainly smarter than that, because it mutated and had a darkness affinity.
Leo finally turned his gaze towards the snake, but his eyes were back to normal. He readied his daggers and got ready to fight.
The snake once again opened its mouth and shot out a Darkness Orb towards Leo and dashed right after it.
Leo quickly evaded the orb and was waiting for the snake to reach him. When he was expecting that snake was going to try to devour him, it suddenly stopped and threw its tail at Leo.
' Motherfu... '
Leo cursed before using [ Mana Enhancement ] on his arms and lifting his the daggers up, to defend against the strike
When his daggers connected with the creature's tail his body roared in pain, but he took the hit surprisingly well. He took a good 10 steps back, but wasn't thrown to the wall.
Leo vomited some blood, but quickly recovered and reacted to another Orb thrown by the snake. Leo enhanced his legs with lightning affinity and disappeared from the snake's vision and Orbs throwing trajectory. Even though Lightning affinity didn't have strong defense properties, it had plenty of speed.
The snake was momentarily confused, but quickly sensed Leo sneaking up on its back and threw its tail towards him.
Leo predicted it and jumped above the tail before rushing towards the snake. He used one of his daggers to cut the snake, but it just bounced back off its scales. Had Leo been an Enhancer Rank human he could circulate mana into his weapon which would make him able to wound the snake.
Gritting his teeth Leo was searching for a solution on how to kill this disgusting being. He came up with a plan to try damaging Snake's eyes. Leo tried to attack its eyes when it was dashing past him, but it was too fast and small to hit. After accepting the fact that he will not the beast's while it was moving. Leo decided that he will throw a dagger to the snake's eye.
Leo distanced himself from the beast and held one of his daggers in a throwing position. He was waiting for a moment when the snake used to charge a Darkness Orb in its mouth. He didn't need to wait long.
Right after the distance between them increased, the snake instantly started charging Darkness Orb. Leo didn't waste this opening and threw a dagger with all his might. After seeing Leo throwing towards its eye, the snake instantly stopped preparing the Darkness orb and closed its eyes.
Little did the snake know Leo was aiming for this moment and dashed towards the snake preparing his second dagger.
After feeling that the dagger bounced off its eyelid, the snake opened its eyes. It saw another dagger nearing its other eye before feeling sharp pain spread through its body.
